After going 3-1 on my NBA picks for Friday, I’m looking to keep the good times going on Sunday. It’s a short slate, but I think I’ve found some winners, nonetheless. Here are my NBA picks for January 14th.

NBA Picks January 14th
Sacramento Kings vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: Bucks -5
Total: 248
The Sacramento Kings had a soft start to their East Coast road trip, winning gimmes at Detroit and Charlotte. Things got decidedly more difficult after that, as they got pasted by 19 points at Philadelphia on Friday and on Sunday have to play in Milwaukee. The Milwaukee Bucks have the third-best home record in the NBA this season at 18-4. The only catch here is that the Bucks did play on Saturday, beating the Golden State Warriors at home. Regardless, I think they handle the Kings and cover for us on Sunday. And I have this game pegged to end up in the low 240s, so the Under is the play as well.
Best Bet: Bucks -5 (-110), Kings/Bucks Under 248 (-110)
Phoenix Suns vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Tipoff – 9:00 pm EST
Spread: Suns -10.5
Total: 231.5
The Portland Trail Blazers have lost three straight games – all at home – by 28, 62(!!!), and 23 points. The Phoenix Suns, while up and down all season, beat the Lakers in Los Angeles on Thursday by 18 points. Maybe now that they are finally healthy (knock on wood), they will start to become more consistent. In any event, they should bury the Blazers in the Moda Center on Sunday night. The total looks about right to me, so no play on it.
