College Basketball Picks January 8th
Maryland Eastern Shore (-1.5) at Coppin State (O/U 130.5)
Two days ago, UMES played a super tight game against Maryland rival Morgan State that came down to the wire. They outlasted them by a point. Today, UMES heads back to the Baltimore area to face 1-14 Coppin State.
Coppin had a very solid 2023 season but lost a few key pieces ahead of this year. They still have a solid coach and are always a tough out in conference play. The Baltimore sweep will be very tough for UMES to complete. Let’s buy the home dogs!
The Pick: Coppin State +1.5
Alabama A&M (-7.5) at Mississippi Valley State (O/U 132.5)
Two of the worst teams in the entire country meet up for a SWAC battle. Alabam A&M plays one of the fastest styles in the nation, while Mississippi Valley State plays one of the slowest. This Delta Devils team is one of the least disciplined bunches in the country, and I expect them to try to ramp it up to run with Alabama A&M.
Whether they score or not, I believe points will be scored in this matchup. Let’s take a look at the total and take a stab at the overall.
