We’ve got a very quiet Saturday in the NBA staring in our faces tomorrow, but you get what you get and you don’t get upset. And all eight teams in action tomorrow – save for Milwaukee – are also playing tonight. With all that in mind, here are my NBA picks for January 6th

NBA Picks January 6th
Utah Jazz vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: 76ers -12.5
Total: 238
A ‘battle’ (not really) between one of the league’s best home teams, the Philadelphia 76ers, and one of the worst road teams, the Utah Jazz. The Sixers are currently getting spanked at home against the New York Knicks, while Utah got smoked in Boston. Philly is going to be mad tomorrow – they are going to cover this huge spread and put a beating on the Jazz. But I do like this game going Under – I think the total is at least five points too high.
Best Bet: 76ers -12.5 (-110), Jazz/76ers Under 238 (-110)
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Houston Rockets
Tipoff – 8:00 pm EST
Spread: Rockets +5
Total: 239.5
The Houston Rockets are trailing at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves as these words are being typed, but with a 14-5 home record coming into Friday, the Rockets have one of the best home records in the NBA this season. And I think these young upstart Rockets get back in the win column tomorrow against the Milwaukee Bucks (or at least cover for us). Milwaukee snuck by San Antonio last game, but had dropped two straight heading into that contest. I think getting five points on one of the best home teams is worth a play. No play on the total – looks about right to me.
