The NBA is only dishing out two games tomorrow night, so we can’t be too picky with our plays. And one of the games involves the San Antonio Spurs, so we’ve got a large spread in that game. With all that in mind, here are my NBA picks for January 4th

NBA Picks January 4th
Milwaukee Bucks vs. San Antonio Spurs
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: Bucks -10
Total: 249.5
The San Antonio Spurs are at home on Thursday night, and Milwaukee is playing in Indianapolis on Wednesday, so the Spurs have to have a shot at winning this one, right?! Except the Spurs are 2-14 at home (as opposed to a much better 3-14 on the road), so they probably aren’t going to win this game. But I think they can cover the spread – they aren’t getting totally blown out in every game, and maybe Milwaukee will rest some of their stars on the second night of a back-to-back. And I’m hammering the Under – the total is set too high.
Best Bet: Spurs +10 (-110), Bucks/Spurs Under 249.5 (-110)
Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors
Tipoff – 10:00 pm EST
Spread: Nuggets -3
Total: 233.5
The late game should be more competitive – at least on paper it is. The Golden State Warriors aren’t the juggernauts at home like they have been in seasons past, only going 10-8 at Chase Center so far and only winning one of their last three games, all at home. I think the defending champs cover the spread here, as they’ve been cooking, winning seven of their last eight games. And I’m going Under again as I have the total pegged to be in the 220s.
Best Bet: Nuggets -3 (-110), Nuggets/Warriors Under 233.5 (-110)
