Underdog Fantasy College Football 1/1 Bowl Games Higher / Lower Picks

From usage rates to yardage totals, we’ve got four picks to help you build a winning entry on Underdog Fantasy.

ReliaQuest Bowl: Wisconsin vs. LSU

Tanner Mordecai Higher 26.5 Passing Attempts

Wisconsin Badgers starting quarterback Tanner Mordecai is slated to start the Reliaquest Bowl. This is likely Mordecai’s last game in college.

Mordecai made nine states and threw 27 times or more in seven of them. He’s facing an LSU pass defense that has the majority of its key players. The same key players allowed an average of 253.8 passing yards per game and managed to end up as the 106th-ranked pass defense in the country.

Opposing teams averaged 31.7 pass attempts per game against LSU in 2023. Mordecai averaged just over 30 attempts per game. Wisconsin will likely have to air it out to keep pace with LSU, and you’ll want to have the higher number in your Underdog Fantasy College Football Pick’em entry.

CFP Semifinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl: Texas vs. Washington

Quinn Ewers Higher 292.5 passing yards

Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers has cleared 293 passing yards in six out of 11 starts this year.

He gets the Washington Huskies pass defense tonight, and they’ve allowed an average of 263.2 yards per game this year. That gives the Huskies the 121st-ranked pass defense in the country. Ewers has averaged 287.3 yards per game.

The Huskies tend to get into shootouts, and their opponents often need to sling it to keep pace. Look for this game to end up in a shootout, and Ewers will clear the 292.5 passing yards total to keep up. Make sure you go higher on the passing yards total for Ewers in your Underdog Fantasy College Football Pick’em entry.

Vrbo Fiesta Bowl: Liberty vs. Oregon

Kaidon Salter Higher 39.5 rushing yards

This is one of the wildest totals currently available for an Underdog Fantasy College Football Pick’em entry.

Salter has cleared 40 yards rushing in 10 out of 12 starts this year. In the two games he missed, he still had enough carries to make going higher a possibility.

Oregon owns the 9th ranked rush defense in the country. The Ducks have only allowed 93.3 rushing yards per game in 2023. However, they also have several key members that may choose to opt out. A lot of the opt outs won’t be known until kickoff, but even at full strength, the Flamin’ Libs will need Salter to have success on the ground to stay in this game.

The Liberty Flames own the best rush attack in the country. Their 302.9 yards per game ranks first in the nation. They’ll need to show up and show out if they want to keep pace with the Oregon Ducks. Look for Salter to go higher on his rushing yards total. If he can’t do it on designed runs, he may end up running for his life on drop backs.

CFP Semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game Presented by Prudential: Alabama vs Michigan

Jalen Milroe Lower 24.5 passing attempts

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe only threw more than 24 times in two out of 12 games this year. There’s no reason to think he’s going to go over against the Michigan Wolverines.

Teams only averaged 26.2 passing attempts against Michigan in 2023. Part of the reason is their pass defense. Teams only completed 54.7% of their passes against the Wolverines. That’s good for eighth best in the nation.

Look for this game to be a bit of a rock fight with teams looking to grind out yards on the ground. Milroe may get close to 24 passing attempts, but there’s no reason to think he goes over. Look to go lower on passing attempts for Milroe in your Underdog Fantasy College Football Pick’em entry.
