Perfect 3-0 Pick Em Entries: 1-14 (-1.6 units)
Patrick McCaffery (Iowa) Lower Than 20.5 PRA
Son of Iowa basketball Head Coach Fran McCaffery, Patrick has only recorded more than 20.5 points, rebounds, and assists in two of the Hawkeyes’ 12 games this year. Some may say this player projection smells. I’m acknowledging it but still diving into the very strong trend. It’s a theme of today’s Underdog entry.
Trey Galloway (Indiana) Lower Than 20.5 PRA
Trey Galloway has only eclipsed 20.5 PRA in 4 of Indiana’s 12 games this season. Against mid-major foes, Galloway’s lower than 20.5 PRA is 6-2.
After Xavier Johnson’s injury, Trey Galloway has assumed a more on-ball role for the Hoosiers. Galloway has recorded less than 20.5 PRA in four of the six games without Johnson healthy. The two times the Senior outperformed his projection were against the high-major competition (Kansas and Maryland).
Adrian “Ace” Baldwin (Penn State) Lower Than 22.5 PRA
Penn State could have their hands full with Rider on Friday night. In his first year at the helm, Mike Rhoades’ team already has a bad home loss to Bucknell this year. On any given day, anybody can be a live dog against the Nittany Lions. Especially when Michigan State is on deck for PSU.
Ace Baldwin was the heralded transfer that Rhoades brought to State College with him from VCU. Baldwin has not transitioned to the new destination as smoothly as I thought he would to this point in the season.
His field goal percentage has dropped 5%, and 3PT% is down 3% since last season. The Senior transfer has only cleared 22.5 PRA twice in 12 games at Penn State.
