Can we really trust the Golden State Warriors at this point and put money on them? Can we go against the Miami Heat at home? Those questions and more are answered with my NBA picks for December 16th.

NBA Picks December 16th
Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat
Tipoff – 8:00 pm EST
Spread: Heat -5
Total: 217
The Chicago Bulls are actually playing much better since Zach LaVine went on the shelf. They’re 5-3 this season with him on the sidelines and 5-13 with him in the lineup (ouch). This includes an eight-point win over this very same Miami Heat team on Thursday. The Heat are still without their top two scorers, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo. Who’s to say the Bulls can’t get another W against the Heat tomorrow (or at least cover for us)? Plus, 217 is too low – I think this game gets into the 220s.
Best Bet: Heat -5 (-110), Bulls/Heat Over 217 (-110)
Brooklyn Nets vs. Golden State Warriors
Tipoff – 9:00 pm EST
Spread: Warriors -3.5
Total: 235
The Brooklyn Nets are on a weeklong west coast road trip, which started this past Monday and ends next Monday. They’ve managed to beat the Phoenix Suns, but got smoked by the Sacramento Kings and the Denver Nuggets. While it’s a nervous proposition putting money behind the dumpster fire that is the current iteration of the Golden State Warriors, I think they can handle business on their home court against a team that’s probably pretty worn out. No play on the total – it’s lined up correctly in my eyes.
Best Bet: Warriors -3.5 (-110)
