NBA First FG Props – December 5
New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST

The numbers are pretty straightforward on this one. The Knicks are far better on the tip than the Bucks. The Bucks have won 57.1% of their tips, and the Knicks are up at 70%. That number could actually be a little better, too, as Mitchell Robinson is grabbing the first possession on 73.9% of the tips. Add in a 22% lead in first buckets – largely thanks to deep shooting early from the Bucks – and the Knicks are the team to play with here.
Julius Randle has the last two first buckets for the Knicks and has four this year. RJ Barrett and Jalen Brunson also have four on the year. While the recent trend seems to lean toward Randle, Brunson has taken the first shot out of the gate in the last two games. Let’s hope one of them falls here.

The numbers for these two in the early game data are almost identical. The Lakers hold a slight lead on the first field goals at just under 7%. The Suns are leading the tip game at just over 2%. When the numbers are that close, I’m just looking for someone with a number I like who is getting early game action.
Of all the numbers on the board, I like the looks of Taurean the best. It might seem like a stretch for him to get two first buckets this close together, but even from the early part of the year, he was getting tons of shots. On top of that, he’s also for a great number next to his name.
