NBA First FG Props – November 1
Indiana Pacers vs. Boston Celtics
Tipoff -7:30 pm EST
TD Garden – Boston, Massachusetts
Broadcast – NBA League Pass
Kristaps Prozingis has given the Celtics all they need to start the games off. He’s been money of the tip and has gotten them the first bucket in every single game they’ve played this year. Myles Turner has had less success for the Pacers. He’s gotten two out of the three jumps so far, but the team has done less well with the first field goals – just one of three. So I think we can safely lean to the Celtics here.
In three games, we’ve seen three different guys get the first hoop for the Celtics. Those three represent three of their four most active shooters on the team. The only one who isn’t represented yet, and just so happens to be getting a lot of the early looks, is the newest acquisition – Porzingis.
First FG Bet for November 1: Kristaps Ponzingis (+425)
Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors
Tipoff – 10:00 pm EST
Chase Center – San Francisco, California
Broadcast – NBA League Pass
Domantas Sabonis was awful last year on the jumps and he’s continued that trend so far this year. He’s 0-3 so far and can’t seem to get even close on them. That being said, the Kings have still gotten two of the three first buckets, but they haven’t faced a team that shoots like the Warriors. The Warriors have shot over 50% for their last three games. They are also really likely to win that tip, as Kevon Looney is 3-for-4 on the season.
Both Andrew Wiggins and Steph Curry seem to be getting a lot of those early looks in the game. Both guys are chilling around the same odds alongside of Klay Thompson – +550. While Curry is getting more shots than Wiggins over the course of the game, the early market share seems to favor Wiggins.
First FG Bet for November 1: Andrew Wiggins (+550)
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Utah Jazz
Tipoff – 9:00 pm EST
Delta Center – Salt Lake City, Utah
Broadcast – NBA League Pass
If you just look to the stats to try to find a team to lean to, you’ll have a tough time with this one. Both centers are 4-0 on the jump balls this year. Both are 2-2 in getting the first buckets. Also, both are in the bottom nine of the league in terms of field goal percentage. So the bottom line is that this will be a competitive tipoff with likely a few possessions before we get a hoop here.
In cases like these, I like to lean to the guy with high percentage shots and bulk. Lauri Markkanen is probably the bets bet for that. He’s shooting almost 19 shots per game and flirting with 50% from the field. He’s worth a dabble here.
First FG Bet for November 1: Lauri Markkanen (+500)
