Underdog Fantasy Daily Pick’Em Entry – October 4

Nathan Eovaldi – Higher than 2.0 Earned Runs

Texas jumped out to a 1-0 lead in this series as a road dog, but I think Tampa Bay will fight back on Wednesday to keep their season alive. The main reason for this is Texas starter Nathan Eovaldi was not sharp closing out the season. He was touched up for seven and five earned runs in his last two starts and three earned runs the start before that. I think the Rays will get to him tomorrow and even the series at home, but more importantly for us, Eovaldi will be charged with higher than two earned runs.

Corey Seager – Higher than 8.5 Fantasy Points

Sticking with the Rangers-Rays series, I’m also sticking with the Texas side, and I’m going with Corey Seager to have another big performance in Game 2. He had 16 fantasy points in Game 1, with a single, a double, a walk, a run, and an RBI. Plus, he hits Wednesday’s starter, Zach Eflin, very well over the course of his career, slashing .429/.500/1.000.

Jose Berrios – Higher than 5.0 Strikeouts

The Blue Jays have their backs against the ropes, as per usual in the playoffs, after dropping Game 1. While there’s no guarantee they win Game 2, I do like their starter, Jose Berrios, to mow down a good number of Minnesota batters – five, to be exact. Berrios averaged about six strikeouts per game during the regular season and topped five K’s in his last five regular season starts.
