Ryder Cup Day 1 and is here, and we will see a bit of a twist. The Ryder Cup usually starts with morning fourball and moves to foursomes in the afternoon.
Captain Luke Donald announced they will tee this off with foursomes this year. He believes this is Team Europe’s best format and emphasizes how important getting off to a great start is for them in this Ryder Cup. The last time this happened in Europe was in 1993, which was also the last time the American side won on European soil.
Ryder Cup Day 1 Picks
Ryder Cup – Day 1 Foursomes Correct Score
Foursomes: “(Foursomes is) a form of match play or stroke play where you and a partner compete as a side by playing one ball in alternating order on each hole. You and your partner must alternate in teeing off to start each hole.”
This leads me to my initial bets, which are going to be related to Europe winning the Foursomes session.
With Team Europe putting all their eggs in this basket, I expect them to take firm control in this session. If they fail to do this, USA will be in a prime position to win the cup.
Europe 3-1 +400 and Europe 2.5-1.5 +500
Ryder Cup – Day 1 Fourballs Winner
Fourball: “Fourball is a form of play (in either match play or stroke play) involving partners where you and your partner compete together as a side, with each of you playing your own ball, and your side’s score for a hole is the lower score of the two of you on that hole.”
Afternoon Fourballs is where Team USA takes back what they lost in the AM. The Depth of Team USA is extremely deep. They have too many birdie makers and solid players to fall behind.
Euro’s A Team will surely win a match in this format. I am buying the depth of Team USA here. They will have their top guys playing their own ball on every hole. This is a great way to win money on USA on day one and cap off the Ryder Cup Day 1 Picks.
USA +155
