The College Football season is a month in, and the running quarterback rankings have changed. The top 10 preseason rankings and the top 10 devy rankings now should not be the same. We have seen some great performances, and the running back position can be volatile. Some of the top running backs are playing like top backs, and some are not playing up to the hype. Let’s get right into the top 10 Devy Running Back Rankings!

Top 10 Devy Running Back Rankings: Who is the 2024 RB1?
The consensus RB1 is TreVeyon Henderson, but there are plenty of people who like Braelon Allen or Raheim Sanders. The 2024 rookie running back class is very good, and the 2025 class of RBS is even better. Just like a dynasty, it is hard to rank running backs because of the volatility at the position. But the top guys still carry a lot of weight. Here are my full Devy running back rankings and some insights on my top 10 Devy running backs.
We are live every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on our SGPN Fantasy Football YouTube channel. There, you can get injury updates from our resident football doctor. The guys will keep you updated on news and help you with those tough lineup decisions. Every week, it comes down to the wire for starts and sits. We have your back.
Top 10 Devy Running Backs
1. Ohio State, TreVeyon Henderson – Class of 2024
TreVeyon is the consensus number one, and he is also my number one. He was limited in 2022 due to an injury with a torn ligament in his foot. Henderson has the ideal combination of size, speed, and instincts as a runner. His early breakout with 1,500 yards from scrimmage with 19 touchdowns as a freshman has dynasty players excited. Henderson is not a prolific pass-catcher but has shown the ability to make big plays in the passing game, too.
2. Arkansas, Raheim “Rocket” Sanders – Class of 2024
Sanders is a powerfully built back at 6’2″ and 227 lbs. His rare combination of size and speed makes him a load to bring down. Sanders brings a quick burst and track speed to go with his massive frame. Sanders has a three-down skillset and a nose for the endzone. In 2022, he averaged 6.5 yards per carry and 9.7 yards per reception on his way to 12 total touchdowns. Sanders was 16th in forced missed tackles and 5th in breakaway runs in 2022.
3. Wisconsin, Braelon Allen – Class of 2024
Braelon Allen is another bigger back at 6’2 and 245 lbs. He doesn’t have the same speed as Sanders, but he is a great back in his own right. Allen is extremely elusive. He has forced 45, 51, and already 23 missed tackles in the last three seasons. He has 39 career runs of 15+ yards and 1,200 yards in breakaway runs. Allen shows great patience and instincts to go with his powerful build. I have him third. Five drops is a concern in limited passing work.
4. Ole Miss, Quinshon Judkins – Class of 2025
Judkins might be more talented and a well-rounded back in comparison to the player above him. The only concern with Judkins is that he is not eligible until 2025. Judkins made PFF-‘s All-True Freshman Team with an amazing freshman year. He took Zach Evans’ job and ran away with it. Judkins averaged over 3.3 yards after contact and had 76 runs that went for 10 yards or more 76! Judkins is an electric player that I can’t wait to see play on Sundays.
RB Quinshon Judkins of Ole Miss had an incredible 2023. According to PFF he ranked in top 10 in the following categories:
➡️ Attempts
➡️ Rushing yards
➡️ Yards after contact
➡️ Forced missed tackles2023: 274 ATT 1,567 YDS 16 TDpic.twitter.com/B2yDRnye8q

5. Penn State, Nicholas “Nick” Singleton – Class of 2025
Nick Singleton is the next great Penn State back and will compete with Judkins for the top back in the 2025 class. Singleton is 6’0″ and 224 lbs. He is the prototype, and he plays like it too. Singleton had a crazy 4.58 yards after contact in 2022. Almost 60% of his passes were breakaway runs, 51 of his 156 carries were first downs or touchdowns. Singleton looked NFL-Ready as a freshman and will terrorize the Big 10 until 2025.
6. Michigan, Donovan Edwards – Class of 2024
Edwards is the lightning to Blake Corum’s thunder. He has big play speed and is a threat in the receiving game. His lateral quickness is something that NFL teams will covet in a class full of bigger backs. He has good size at 6’1″ and 210 lbs, and he is a big play waiting to happen. Edwards averaged 7.1 yards per carry in 2022 and averaged 6.2 for his career. His 48 career receptions for 531 yards will have dynasty managers very excited.

7. Michigan, Blake Corum – Class of 2024
Blake was ready to go to the NFL last season before he finished the season by suffering a torn ACL. Corum was set to be a Heisman finalist with his 1,500-yard and 18-touchdown season. He forced 73 missed tackles and ran for a whopping 96 first downs! Corum is off to a great start in 2023 and should be back to full speed in 2024. He can catch the ball, and he showed that off as a freshman with 24 receptions. Blake Corum is in my top-five 2024 backs.
8. Georgia, Branson Robinson – Class of 2025
Georgia has been a running back factory for a long time. It’s been a little while since they have given us a Nick Chubb or a Todd Gurley. Brandon Robinson hopes to be that guy, and he looks the part at 5’10 and 220 lbs. Robinson is a bruising runner who has track speed. He already has ten carries for 10+ yards and 102 breakaway yards this season. He has only played a few games and is already making a name for himself in the dynasty community.
9. Cedric “CJ” Baxter Jr., Texas – Class of 2026
Bijan Robinson left big shoes to fill, and Baxter gets to take that torch. Baxter is a dual-threat back with the prototypical size and speed. A track athlete with a big frame, Baxter was the third-rated running back in his recruiting class. Texas has had some great recruiting classes, and Baxter will get a chance to play alongside Arch Manning for his time in Texas. His ability to catch at his size could move him up boards quickly.
10. Clemson, Will Shipley – Class of 2024
Shipley’s ability to be a factor in the receiving game really gives him some dynasty value. PFF named him a dark horse Heisman candidate. In 2022, Shipley had 37 receptions for 237 yards in addition to his 1,200 rushing yards. Shipley is a good runner, getting a 78.5 PFF grade last season and scoring 15 touchdowns. In 2023, he has averaged 6.3 yards a carry and is off to a great start already. He rounds out my devy running back rankings!
