Underdog Fantasy Daily Pick’Em Entry – September 14
Carlos Santana – Higher than 0.5 Total Bases
Carlos Santana has been on a nice run here in September. He has 12 hits over the 12 games he’s played so far, which makes this projection look easily attainable. He does have a tough pitching matchup in Eury Perez, who has started to look like the version of himself before the Marlins sent him down. However, he’s averaging only about five innings a game as of late, which means Santana will also get a shot at the Marlins bullpen.
Royce Lewis – Lower than 0.5 Singles
Over his last six games, Royce Lewis has only four hits. That includes three hitless games in his last four appearances. While he started the month hot, he’s just not seeing the ball all that well now. The bonus to taking the singles projection is also the nature of those hits.
Of the four hits that Lewis has in his last six games, just one of them is a single. He has two doubles to go with a dinger. So, between hitting for power and cooling off, Lewis should stay off the board here.
Charlie Blackmon – Lower than 8.0 Fantasy Points
While Charlie Blackmon has had some success against Thursday’s starter, Logan Webb, he’s been bad this month. So far, he’s tallied only seven hits all month, and only two are for extra bases. He’s not in a place in the lineup that sees many chances for RBI. On top of all that, he’s struck out in each of his last eight games, so the contact is even down.
