2023 NCAA Championship Picks
The guys (@GamblingPodcast) celebrate the amazing San Diego State win with San Diego’s number one sports fan Justin Decker (@JustinDecker). They recap the Final Four games and then give out their 2023 NCAA Championship picks for the game between San Diego State and the UCONN Huskies.

The Final Four did not disappoint at all, Monday will be an exciting matchup between San Diego State and UConn. If you didn’t join for the live watch party, be sure to check out the video for some great reactions to the big games.
San Diego State overcame a 7 point halftime deficit to beat Florida Atlantic with a buzzer beater. State rebounded 57% of their shots in the second half which was the key in their slow grind of a comeback. In the second half, they never had more than a 50% chance of winning, but they somehow pulled it off. FAU’s magical run came to a really unfortunate end, but their program will be changed for a very long time.
UConn beat Miami pretty handily in their 5th double digit win of the tournament. Miami struggled to share the ball and apply pressure to UConn, which allowed UConn to feel comfortable the whole game. In addition, UConn dominated the interior and overall just looked much stronger and complete than Miami. Miami was a popular upset pick in the first round but they managed to prove the haters wrong all the way to the Final Four.
San Diego State doesn’t have the most notable offense but they do have a collection of very hot shooters, especially in Parrish. The National Championship comes in a short turn around and everyone that was hot in these games can easily still be hot. UConn’s defense has been stout but will get a solid combatant in San Diego State. State’s defense will be tested with UConn but they do bring a flavor of defense UConn has yet to see in this tournament. Their guards are visibly vulnerable to pressure and San Diego State could very well pick them up full court.
The spread has opened at -7.5 with UConn as the favorite but this number will most likely move. First half bets for UConn will probably be better as San Diego State has shown they can tire out their opponents and pounce in the second half as they have done a number of times. UConn also showed some weakness at the free throw line which can heavily fault them if they repeat this on Monday.
