NFL Draft Props

The guys (@GamblingPodcast) give out their favorite NFL Draft prop bets in their latest NFL picks podcast. The NFL Draft will be here before you know it, so you better get your draft props in now, before some news can sway the board.

(6:19) First Quarterback Drafted Prop Bet

CJ Stroud is -300 to be the first quarterback in anticipation that the Panthers made their trade to get him. Bryce Young is +250 and Anthony Richardson has a chance to go that early, but it seems almost certain to be Stroud. CJ has impressive size and electric gameplay that warrants him going first, in especially Frank Reich’s eyes. The Cardinals can be an interesting player in how the quarterback drafting shakes out as they could trade out of their early pick. With teams potentially trying to jump in front of the Colts to get a quarterback or the Colts trying to jump as well, the Cardinals can get some serious capital in return for it. Lamar Jackson’s whereabouts also can influence the QB drafting market as everything can change if he goes to one of the teams.

Making QB exacto bets could be an interesting way to bet on the draft is picking the order of the quarterbacks taken. The likely outcome of this is Stroud, Young, Richardson. However, Hendon Hooker has been rumored to possibly be breaking this up.

Stetson Bennett is also an interesting draft pick to discuss, or whether or not he will be drafted. Him landing on a team seems very likely, but probably undrafted is the way. He doesn’t measure out great, is not a tantalizing athlete, but he sure knows how to win. With Bennett, you can bet on what round he gets drafted in, or if he is undrafted.

(29:01) First Cornerback Drafted Prop Bet

The Cornerback class is very loaded in this draft with a number of pure athletes and straight gamers. In two of the last 3 years, a cornerback has been drafted third overall. The position is highly coveted and defenses are changed overnight once they have a lockdown corner. Witherspoon was said to have the best tape that PFF has reviewed in the past 9 years. Although, Oregon’s Gonzalez is a physical freak that is a hard talent to pass up. One dark horse to look out for is Cam Smith who is at 50-1 and is ranked 3rd in the class by PFF.

(34:17) First Wide Receiver Drafted Prop Bet

Jaxon Smith-Njigba seems to be the overwhelming favorite as first wide receiver off the board. Although, his problem is that he is a slot receiver, not the most desired type of receiver. Two names to look out for are Quentin Johnson out of TCU and Zay Flowers out of Boston College. Trying to bet on what team each player goes to could also be interesting.

(39:34) First Tight End Drafted Prop Bet

For tight ends, Michael Mayer out of Notre Dame is the chalk play but there are some big names like Darnell Washington. People are saying this is one of the best tight end draft classes in many years. Luke Musgrave is one of the highest ceilings in this market. Mayer is very complete but he might be at his physical peak. Ideally, if teams are taking tight ends early, they want them to be a part of their offense right away.

(44:48) Jalen Carter Draft Prop Bet

Carter’s over under to be picked is at 7.5. With so many teams planning to take quarterbacks and Will Anderson seeming like a lock to go early, Carter will probably slide when you factor in his character issues.
