College Basketball Picks 1-27-23

The guys (@GamblingPodcast) give out all their college basketball predictions on this college basketball picks 1/27/23 podcast. They’re joined by Colby Dant (@TheColbyD) of The College Basketball Experience.

Colby is back discussing College Basketball picks for this Saturday, January 28th. In the past few weeks the guys have been on fire with their picks. Last week both Sean and Kramer were 8-3-1 and hit on both their locks, while Colby went 5-6. With the end of January coming soon, March Madness is just a little over a month away.

In Morgantown, West Virginia, Auburn is +4 against the Mountaineers. West Virginia is LIT always, and this will rattle Auburn as they already turn the ball over town. In out-of-conference games, West Virginia is 10-2 this year. With a refresh of the coaching staff, West Virginia could be turning a corner.

Xavier battles at Creighton in Omaha, Nebraska, where Creighton is -4. Even though Xavier just got a big W against UConn, it is tough to go into Creighton and get a win. They do have a couple big wins the past couple weeks though.

Alabama is -5.5 at Oklahoma. Alabama is up and down this year on a huge spectrum and they shoot bad shots. Oklahoma though has had a tough run all year and is not meeting expectations.

Iowa State heads to Missouri to who is -1.5 at home. All around Mizzou is a strong team and Iowa State has been good as well. Missouri is good on the boards, shoots high percentage shots, and is much better than Iowa State at the free throw line.

Wisconsin hosts Illinois as +1 dogs. When these two met last time, they were missing their best player and lost by 10. They also need to prove themselves after an ugly loss last game. However, they do play very clean slow ball and control the game — and the ball – very well.

Baylor meets the MUSS BUS. Baylor is -4.5 and has looked well this year while Arkansas uncharacteristically has not. From the 3-point line to the free throw line to offensive boards, Baylor dominates Arkansas on all levels in terms of metrics.

Pittsburgh hosts Miami in a juicy ACC battle where Pitt is -1. Jeff Capel has been leading Pittsburgh well this year behind a strong home crowd. Although, Miami shoots the 3 well and has the potential to pull away regarding they shoot well.

Hofstra visits Charleston who is -6.5 at home. Charleston hasn’t lost since November 11th in a close road loss to UNC. On the other side, Hofstra has very strong guard play which just might be stronger than Charleston as they shoot the ball well, but Charleston defends the 3 well.

Tennessee is -7.5 against Texas in what will be a huge game between two strong defensive teams. Points will be at a premium in this game but Texas might get Tennessee to turn the ball over a little bit.

Virginia Tech battles Syracuse as a big home favorite at -7.5. Cuse shoots an impressive 37% from behind the line and is led by guard and potential son of Jim Boeheim, Joe Girard. Tech could be proving doubters wrong though despite their history.

Kansas visits Kentucky as +1.5 dogs. Kentucky has been unpredictable all year despite their talent but Kansas has lost three straight. This line seems as though it is an overreaction for Kansas’s recent slide who has looked much better all year, who are also playing with a taste for revenge.

Ohio State is headed to Indiana where the home team is -4. Injuries have risen for Indiana, but this has not completely stopped them as players have stepped up. Ohio State has looked like nothing special all year and isn’t giving much betting confidence, especially on the road.
