Boxing Odds, Picks, And Bets: Teofimo Lopez vs Sandor Martin
Sandor “Arrasandor” Martin: 40-2 (13 KO), 29 years old, HT 5’7″
Throughout his professional boxing career, Sandor Martin built up his record fighting in Europe. In his first pro fight in the United States, “Arrasandor” pulled off the 2021 “Upset of the Year” in a majority decision over Mikey Garcia. Here’s the book on Martin. He only has 13 knockouts in 42 pro fights and they’ve all come against competitors for regional belts in Europe.
The Spaniard’s strength is his timing. When you watch recent Teofimo Lopez fights, he opens his posture to get struck with quick straight punches. With better timing, Richard Commey could have been the one to land the devastating blow. George Kambosos scored the knockdown via a straight right. That is the path to success for Martin – it doesn’t need to be a power punch, just hit the target on time, and stack point by point, round by round.

This will be Teofimo Lopez’s third fight on the “Heisman Night” card and second as the headliner. It is pretty safe to say the significance of the MSG Venue won’t shell-shock him. After talking a big game and attempting to create a superfight vs Devin Haney in the 135-pound division, then not taking care of business vs Kambosos in the fight he knew he had to win prior to the superfight, you would think Lopez’s camp has learned their lesson. Instead, Lopez has moved up to 140 and has Josh Taylor in his sights.

I understand the slight flaws Teofimo Lopez has in his game, but I question whether Sandor Martin will be able to take advantage of them. Lopez is one of the most freakish athletes in the boxing scene as we speak. Top Rank likes to stack these “Heisman Night” cards in hopes of fireworks in the making. The two biggest highlights so far from Lopez’s career have come in KO fashion on “Heisman Night.” At plus odds, I think there is a pretty good chance of history repeating itself.

I am super excited to watch the next great American heavyweight, Jared Anderson, jump into the ring. I think he gets his 13th straight knockout (-550) against Jerry Forrest. Then, Puerto Rican rising star Xander Zayas will face Alexis Salazar. Salazar (29 fights) is the most experienced fighter Zayas has faced so far in his young career. I think Zayas gets a comfortable win on points (+220). Lastly, American Olympic Silver Medalist Keyshawn Davis is being fed Juan Carlos Burgos. It may take him a handful of rounds but ultimately Davis should put him away via KO/TKO/DQ at +175.
