I’ve got a play from the day’s first game and from its last. For the early game, we’re heading to a place very familiar with day games, Wrigley Field in Chicago.

And if my plans come to fruition, the home fans will have at least one home run ball from the good guys to fight over in the stands. That player is Cubs third baseman Alex Bregman, who only has nine homers this year but entered the All-Star break with dingers in back-to-back games, and has two home runs in six career at-bats against tomorrow’s Minnesota Twins starter, Taj Bradley.

Detroit Tigers vs Los Angeles Angels

To Anaheim for the night game, as the Detroit Tigers and ace Tarik Skubal are in town to play the home side Los Angeles Angels. And can you believe I’m in on an Angel to hit one out?

Somehow, Jorge Soler has two career home runs against Skubal in only seven at-bats. Let’s make it three tomorrow night in Cali.
