The Rays scored early and often on Sunday and put up another YRFI. The action continues on Monday with no rest thanks to the rain out last week. We have some NRFI and YRFI picks for October 19.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 19th
Cleveland Guardians vs. Tampa Bay Rays
First Pitch – 8:00 pm EST
Tropicana Field – St. Petersburg, FL
Broadcast – TBS
After a YRFI on Sunday, we’ll ride with one for Monday as well. The Rays bats got busy early off of deceptive fastball pitcher, Parker Messick. They not only scored one in the first inning, but they scored in the second and third innings as well. Now the Guardians rotation is depleted and they’re going to have to cobble something together. As of Monday morning, they have no announced starter and there are rumors of a bullpen game. With the Rays hot and having a chance to clinch a berth to the World Series, you have to imagine that spells runs early.
In the bottom of the first, the Rays will go with Freddy Peralta once again. Peralta threw admirably last Tuesday, racking up 6.0 scoreless innings with just four hits allowed. The problem is that they then brought him back for some relief action on Saturday. You could make an argument that it’s just nine pitches and was likely a throw day for him anyways, but that definitely gives a boost to the YRFI side in my eyes.
