It’s playoff time in the desert, as the semifinals in the Vegas Summer League go down tomorrow. The Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors, and Los Angeles Lakers are all still alive. Here are your NBA Summer League predictions and preview for Saturday, July 18th.
NBA Summer League Predictions & Preview for Saturday, July 18th
Houston Rockets vs Memphis Grizzlies
Start Time – 6:30 PM EST
I’m sticking with the teams in the actual playoffs (there are a bunch of consolation games tomorrow as well) because you’d expect those squads to play to win. The first semifinal of the day pits the 3-1 Houston Rockets against the 3-1 Memphis Grizzlies.
If you’ve been following along daily with my plays, you’ll know I’m all-in on this Grizzlies roster, led by top draft pick Cameron Boozer and a bunch of young NBA veterans. The Grizzlies will cover.
Best Bet: Memphis -4.5 (-112)
Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers
Start Time – 8:30 PM EST
The other side of the bracket is an all-California affair, with the 3-1 Golden State Warriors facing the 4-0 Los Angeles Lakers. This was not expected, as neither team has a star studded roster (the Warriors do have #11 pick Yaxel Lendeborg, though).
But those are often the most dangerous teams in tournaments, as players fight to be noticed. I’ll go with the Lakers and Arthur Kaluma, Cameron Carr and compnay to remain undefeated and make it into the finals.
Best Bet: Los Angeles -1.5 (-+100)
