Billi (@SGPSoccer) breaks down tomorrow’s FIFA Club World Cup Final between Paris SG and Chelsea. PSG humiliated Real Madrid to make it to this Club World Cup Final, and they are justifiably heavy favourites to lift the trophy for the first time at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
While the Parisians incisive attacking work has been impressive, their defence has been rock-solid— conceding only once in this competition. It’s also hard ignore the control that Luis Enrique’s side have exerted throughout the competition. In their semifinal, they had almost 70% of the ball, and limited Real Madrid to just two shots on target and 0.68 expected goals— which should be a huge concern for a Chelsea side who have done just about enough to get through a considerably weaker side of the draw.
