XFL Week 5 DFS Flowchart

Spring football daily fantasy is never an easy thing. With different players stepping up week in and week out and others falling off the wayside, dialing up a winning lineup is tricky. With so many teams using two quarterbacks, it becomes even more difficult. So, what do we do? Well, one option is to follow one of the paths on our XFL Week 5 DFS Flowchart.

While I haven’t hit it rich yet playing the XFL DFS through the first four weeks, I have profited each week. Through stacks, chasing high-scoring games, and looking for value, we build our paths and hope for a little luck to fall our way. Let’s take a look at why I chose these paths. This week was the hardest because two of our better offenses play against the better defenses.

XFL Week 5 DFS Flowchart

Start With DFS Stacks

As with all DFS, chasing stacks is a good idea. This week I went with what has been our bread and butter. The top quarterback in the XFL as far as fantasy football goes. I am somewhat hesitant because he goes against the top defense. Still, it’s hard not to take Ben Dinucci of the Sea Dragons and stack him with Jahcour Pearson. Pearson plays out of the slot, and the slot position tends to eat in a June Jones offense.

In my other stack, I stayed in that same game. The second-ranked quarterback is Brandon Silvers for the Houston Roughnecks. He has a multitude of weapons and has been using them well. I stacked him with Jontre Kirklin, who has four receiving touchdowns through four weeks as well as a passing touchdown during a trick play last week.

Chasing Points

The next part of the XFL Week 5 DFS lineup is to look to the game the books feel will be the highest scoring. This week two of them have a total of 42. In the first stack, I grabbed a player from each game. First, we start with Brian Hill. Hill came back from injury last week and ran for 110 yards and a touchdown.

I expect him to get a heavy workload again to set the tone for the game. I jumped to the other game to grab Cinque Sweeting for Vegas. Sweeting has two games over 60 yards, and the defense is focused more on the other receivers.

In the other stack, I stayed in the same game. First, I grabbed Jeff Badet. Badet leads the team in receiving. Aside from one game, he’s had over 80 yards receiving in each game and scored three touchdowns. I paired him with the lowest-priced player I’ve taken yet in, Devin Darrington. Darrington came in last week and ran for 40 yards while also adding two catches for 17 yards. I think Guardians will be able to run the ball against the league’s worst rush defense, and that will start with Darrington.

Looking for Values

The books have raised values this week, so looking for bargains was a challenge. Luckily in each lineup, we had some money to play with. I started with Cody Latimer. He fits in the highest-scoring matchup for chasing points as well but has been rock solid. The Guardians don’t have many players paying off in fantasy, but Latimer is the top tight end. I paired him with Cedric Byrd. Byrd’s numbers may not jump off the board, but last week he was targeted seven times. Defenses will continue to focus on Kirklin and Deontay Burnett.

In my other lineup, I went for the second-highest-scoring fantasy football tight end, Sal Canella. Canella is a go-to target for the Renegades, whether it’s his former USFL quarterback Sloter or Drew Plitt. He’s averaging 6.3 targets per game. The other player is Lucky Jackson. Jackson has shown to be a playmaker the past two games, having over 60 yards receiving in each.

Defense

Defenses were hard to pick this week because the best defenses were either unaffordable or going against the best offenses. This was really a crapshoot. My favorite play of them is the Vipers, who go against the Guardians. Guardians have struggled and been willing to give the ball to other teams.

I also like the Brahmas defense this weekend. Arlington’s offense has been a mess, and if we’re thinking about sacks plus limiting points, the Brahmas could do well. Not to mention, Sloter threw three interceptions last weekend.
