On November 4, the day they taped, the guys split right down the middle of a 3-point line: Ryan Kramer laid the Giants -3 and Sean Green grabbed the Eagles +3. The Giants visit the Eagles on Sunday, November 8 at 1:00 PM ET in Philadelphia, PA, with Joe Milton starting at quarterback for the home team. The whole argument is on the NFL Picks Week 9 episode.
Giants vs Eagles Odds
When the guys taped on November 4, the Giants were 3-point road favorites over the Eagles, and the total sat at 38.5.
Our Picks
- Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric): Giants -3
- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): Eagles +3
Ryan opened by saying the low total of 38.5 probably reflects the Eagles going from one bad quarterback to a worse one. Sean did not accept that Milton is worse than Tanner McKee. He called Milton a big unknown and said he looked decent against the Bills after the Patriots pulled their starter, going 22 of 29 with a touchdown and no interceptions. Ryan’s answer was the résumé. McKee has been on an active NFL roster for four years, he said, while Milton sat on practice squads that any team could have raided, and nobody did until the Eagles took him off the Cowboys’ practice squad. Sean shot back that Milton was only drafted in 2024 and that teams misjudge quarterbacks all the time.
Sean’s case for Philadelphia is about style as much as talent. He wants mobility behind an offensive line that has had its issues and a passer who isn’t afraid to throw deep, and he said the loss to the Commanders came down to never pushing the ball downfield. He also thinks the Giants are fat and happy, noted this is the first time they have been favored over the Eagles since 2016, and kept coming back to Philadelphia’s 30 and 7 run in the series.
Ryan wasn’t moved. He thinks the Eagles are tanking, called this their worst start since 1999 and said he can’t remember an Eagles team quitting like this one. Sean’s view is the opposite: you start Milton because you think he gives you the best chance to win on Sunday. Where they agreed is the one way the Giants lose. JJ McCarthy has to turn the ball over repeatedly, and Sean said that is his handicap too. He predicted two interceptions from McCarthy and one from Milton. Ryan noted McCarthy had an easier test against a Houston defense that doesn’t try to trick you, and he expects Milton to be the one giving the ball away when he goes deep.
