Atlanta Hawks vs New Orleans Pelicans

Start Time – 7:00 PM EST

The Atlanta Hawks have been coming up in my best bets an inordinate amount of time to start the season. The main reason is that the underlying stats make the Hawks out to be a better team than their win-loss record indicates. This paid off for me in their win over the Cleveland Cavaliers last time out.

And I expect it to pay off tomorrow in New Orleans. The Pelicans are crummy, no surprise there. My line is Atlanta -10, so the Hawks on the spread is the play.

Best Bet: Atlanta -3.5 (-115)

Sacramento Kings vs Memphis Grizzlies

Start Time – 8:00 PM EST

Guess who else sucks? The 0-5 Sacramento Kings, that’s who. Another unsurprising development. However, the undefeated (5-0) young Memphis Grizzlies have been a revelation.

As has their guard Ty Jerome, who has arguably been the league’s best player this season. Jerome is questionable to play tomorrow, however. Even without him, I like the Griz to cover this spread at home. My line is Memphis -22(!!), so I think we’re good.
