Football Pick of the Day (October 11th): NFL Week 5 Spread Pick
New York Giants vs Washington Commanders
1:00pm – Sunday – October 11th
The Gaints head into Washington to meet a returning starting quarterback. Jayden Daniels is back in action on Sunday after badly dislocating his elbow against the Cowboys earlier this year. His return, along with playing at home, is definitely the primary reason why the Commanders are the favorites. However, I think that’s misguided.
Daniels was 0-2 in the division as a starter. He was completing just a touch above 50% of his passes and lost to a pair of teams that have struggled to put up defense. Now we have to assume he is back and at 100%, which I do not believe he will be. Their defense, meanwhile, is allowing more than 30 points a game and that’s a pace I don’t think they can match.
The Giants, even without Jaxson Dart, have the ability to put up numbers. Jameis Winston isn’t afraid to make mistakes, and as a result is able to go for it. He hung 250 yards and 3 touchdowns on the Cardinals last week. Look for another big scoring day and the Commanders not be able to keep up.
