The New York Jets head to Tennessee as short road underdogs, with the Titans laying 1.5 and the total sitting at 39.5, one of the lowest numbers on the Week 1 board. Kickoff is Sunday in the early window, and the guys worked through it on the NFL Picks Week 1 show, where they flat-out called it the worst game of the week.

The case on the show started with the Titans. The guys couldn’t figure out how Tennessee ended up a favorite behind an offensive line they see as very suspect, and they leaned on the trend that the Titans have gone 1-8 ATS as a favorite over the last three seasons. They flagged that a lot of that came under a different quarterback and head coach, but the number still didn’t sit right. The knock on Cam Ward was sloppy footwork that showed up again in the preseason, enough to keep them off Tennessee at any price.

On the Jets side, they liked the offensive line and thought New York could just line up and run it, with a defense that’s due to force a turnover. The Jets are the public side here, and one of the guys tabbed Garrett Wilson as a candidate to go off. The bottom line was simple: they weren’t laying points with this Titans team, so they took the Jets and the hook.
