Monday Night Football Props + NFL Week 8 Recap
Sean Green (@SeanTGreen) and Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric) run through the NFL Week 8 recap, starting with the Cardinals’ overtime win over Dallas, then get to Bears vs. Seahawks Monday Night Football props. Sean Green wants JSN in the end zone, and Ryan Kramer likes AJ Barner over 28.5 receiving yards.
Minshew Magic Tops The NFL Week 8 Recap
Sunday’s best sweat came out of the teardrop. With an extra game on and Red Zone on the main TV, the Cowboys got bumped to the small screen, and the Arizona Cardinals made Sean Green and Ryan Kramer look like geniuses for it with a 33-30 overtime win. Dallas led 27-17 with 3:54 left. That should have been the ballgame. Then Arizona benched Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew found Trey McBride for a 14-yard touchdown with 2:11 to go, and the comeback was live. The Cowboys recovered the onside kick, went nowhere on four plays and kicked a field goal for a 30-24 lead with about a minute left. The guys agreed that one probably should have been a fourth-down try.
Minshew then went eight plays and 80 yards to tie it at 30. And then the extra point sailed, so a game Arizona had won in regulation went to overtime. Both teams went three and out before the Cardinals drove for the winning field goal. Tyler Allgeier was the story, with 11 carries for 147 yards and a score plus five catches for 44 and another touchdown. That stung Kramer, who talked through an Allgeier two-touchdown bet on the pregame show and called passing on it his first massive regret of the season. Trevor, a lifelong Cardinals fan, called in with two videos his wife shot of the tie and the miss. They are exactly as painful as you’d expect. Caleb Downs also had a rough night, chirped by McBride after a catch and then driven down the field by a pulling center.
Two-Touchdown Heartbreak And Lamar Hits IR
The callers came in hot. Ian nearly retired off a 935-to-1 parlay with Wandelle and Rico Dowdle at two touchdowns each, and both guys got exactly one. Dowdle scored at the 7:57 mark of the first quarter, which is the cruelest possible start to a two-touchdown sweat. Then his team ran play after play near the goal line and he touched the ball once. Kramer was on Dowdle and Ja’Kobi Lane for two scores, so the pain was shared. Sean had his own version with Mike Washington, who got six carries inside the five for the Raiders and never found the end zone. Cut down to one touchdown each, Ian’s ticket would have been a nice cash, and Kramer called that the responsible play going forward.
Then there’s Baltimore. Lamar Jackson is on IR with a thumb injury and possibly done for the season after getting hurt on his first play back in a 36-10 loss to the Bills. The backup went down too. So Joe Fagnano came in, looked horrible, and now there are rumors of a Tyson Bagent trade. Disco Mints, a Ravens fan back from the pregame show, put Jesse Minter in the locker. Sean is mostly mad at himself, because his first instinct was to lock up the Bills with Josh Allen off a bye, and he talked himself out of it. As someone holding Steelers division tickets, he likes Pittsburgh sitting in the catbird seat. The Ravens also have to turn around and play Thursday.
Lions Grind Past The Vikings As The NFC North Tightens
Thursday night was a close-your-eyes special that never looked ugly enough, and the Panthers lost 27-19 to Green Bay. Kramer is still allergic to complimenting Jordan Love. He did admit the Packers defense finally looked like its rankings, while Sean thinks he underrated the Carolina offensive line injuries. The Panthers still sit atop the NFC South and just fired their defensive coordinator. On Sunday the Lions won and covered 19-15 over Minnesota. Sean was on the Vikings plus 3.5, figuring a close game, and he was right about the close part. Kramer, meanwhile, regrets not putting Detroit on his Circa Million card, because he debated it against the Chargers and called it a massive mistake.
Noah from The College Basketball Experience called in to point out what the box score hid. Detroit lost five defensive starters, including Jack Campbell, who was carted off early in the fourth quarter and is being monitored in the hospital. The Vikings’ only touchdown came right after, a 50-yard shot to Jordan Addison and then a score to Hockenson in Campbell’s coverage. Kyler Murray was Minnesota’s leading rusher at four carries for 35 yards. Kramer said his pump fakes looked like grenade throws. Sean’s Hockenson receiving yards over still cashed on a 4-1 props show. Now the division is a mess, with the Vikings 6-1, the Lions and Bears 5-2, and the Packers in last at 5-3. Noah’s one hoops pick before hanging up was Marshall minus 1.5 against Buffalo.
Bucs Win Without A Completion And The Double Locks Cash
Kramer liked the Bucs so much he bet them Monday, watched the number hold, and went back to the Circa window for a second helping. Tampa Bay won 16-0 in a torrential downpour without completing a pass. The last team to win that way was the 1974 Bills. Baker Mayfield went 0 for 3 and still posted a better QBR than Michael Penix, who finished 8 for 24 with four interceptions. Bucky Irving carried it 27 times for 170 yards, and that was the whole handicap. Novig had the NFC South at Panthers 36%, Bucs 35%, Falcons 28% and Saints 14%. Price adjusted, Kramer still likes Tampa the most, though he might sit pat for now.
Both hosts locked the Steelers and the Broncos, and both double locks got home. Pittsburgh handled the Browns 27-6 behind Jaylen Warren, who ran 17 times for 143 yards. Darnell Washington added three catches for 94 while dragging Carson Schwesinger along for the ride. Kramer thinks the Steelers are the best team in that division, and they get the Bengals in Cincy on Sunday Night Football out of the bye. Denver then beat the Chiefs 28-24 as a small dog, with Kramer on Broncos plus one. They trailed by 11 late and won the fourth quarter 15-0. That’s the same Bo Nix team Sean keeps backing, even if Emmett Johnson torched them for five catches and 128 yards.
Not everything got home. Sean had the Titans on the money line and watched them lose 43-36 in overtime to the Bengals after leading 13-0 early. Cam Ward threw for 300 yards and Tennessee scored 36 on the road. But Joe Burrow had five touchdown passes plus one on the ground, and Kramer insists a league-average quarterback wins that game for the Titans. Gunnar Helm led the team with five catches for 76, and Sean should have laddered him. The Chargers also fell 24-9 to the Rams after trailing just 10-9 at halftime. Two second-half Justin Herbert interceptions decided it.
Eagles Hit Bottom While The Raiders Get Home
The guys were both on the Raiders in a 38-33 win over the Jets. Kramer’s read was simple: laying points with Aaron Glenn is not a plus-EV move. Mike Washington ran 25 times for 83 yards, short of a 29.5 rushing line Kramer was on, and Sean cashed a Michael Mayer receiving yards over. Braelon Allen went for 147 yards on 21 carries in the loss. Then the Jets kicked a late field goal to make it a two-possession game, and the Raiders answered with one of their own. New England beat Miami 24-19 but didn’t cover, so Sean’s Dolphins play got there, along with a Malik Willis passing yards over that Kramer called a disrespectful number.
Philadelphia is in a bad place. The Eagles lost 27-10 to Washington after jumping out 10-0, their sixth straight loss, and they’re 2-6 for the first time since 1999. Sean didn’t sugarcoat it. Tanner McKee can’t throw the ball down the field, and with Jalen Hurts out for the season, the offense has no spark. He would start Joe Milton right now. He also wouldn’t trade Saquon Barkley, because nobody is offering a first-rounder and Barkley has been one of the few bright spots. The trade deadline is a week from Tuesday. Kramer, whose Giants sit atop the division after starting three quarterbacks, can’t wait to hear the Linc when New York visits.
Monday Night Football Props For Bears-Seahawks
Ola, a Bears fan, called in fired up about the Jeffrey Simmons addition and Montez Sweat coming back. Ola predicted a 30-27 Bears win and pushed a parlay of the Bears money line, JSN over receiving yards and Caleb Williams over rushing yards. The best part of the call was a Sam Darnold interception. Kramer already had it on his card at minus 104 as a system play, Darnold in prime time. He thinks a juiced-up Bears pass rush gets home against a quarterback who has looked more like the three Sam Darnold than the 14-win one. So Sean tailed it as a bonus prop. He also has JSN anytime touchdown around minus 110, even while sitting on the Bears plus 3.
Both hosts are on D’Andre Swift over 17.5 receiving yards, because the Seattle defense lets offenses dink and dunk to the running back, and Ben Johnson won’t ignore that. Kramer adds AJ Barner over 28.5 receiving yards. Tight ends have been eating against Chicago, with Kyle Pitts going five for 60 and Tucker Kraft five for 64 in recent weeks, and Barner is coming off four catches for 42. On first touchdowns, Sean is on Sam Roush at 50 to 1 and Caleb Williams at 25 to 1. Kramer agrees on the Bears side, then adds Barner at 14 to 1 and Darnold himself at 49 to 1, since pressure up the middle is what spooks him most.
Then the Degen plays. Sean built a mini ladder on Roush, a 6-foot-6, 270-pound Stanford tight end, at 7 to 1 anytime and 125 to 1 for two touchdowns. With Cole Kmet hurt and a Thursday-to-Monday break to scheme, he expects Ben Johnson to get his guy involved. Kramer goes bigger with an AJ Barner build of 60 receiving yards, an anytime touchdown and the Bears money line at plus 3597. Swap the anytime for two Barner touchdowns and it’s plus 17857, roughly 178 to 1. Pretty reasonable, as the man said.
