Commanders vs Eagles Prediction & Picks: NFL Week 1

The Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Commanders on Sunday, September 13 in the late-afternoon window (1:25 PM PT), and Philadelphia opens Week 1 laying 4.5 at home with the total set at 44.5. Sean Green and Ryan Kramer broke this NFC East opener down on the show and both landed on the same side. You can hear every Week 1 game on the NFL Picks Week 1 episode.

Commanders vs Eagles Odds

The Eagles are 4.5-point home favorites over the Commanders, with an over/under of 44.5. On the moneyline it’s Philadelphia -225 and Washington +195. The guys noted the number was bouncing between 4.5 and 5.5 across the market, with the sharper books sitting at 4.5.

Our Picks

This one was unanimous. Both guys are on the Eagles at -4.5.

The case is all Philadelphia. They leaned on Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni’s opener history, a healthy offensive line, Saquon Barkley coming off a monster year, and an Eagles defensive front (Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis) they called the biggest mismatch of the week. Hurts has been dominant as a home favorite, especially in divisional games, and they questioned whether Jayden Daniels can move a new-look Washington offense against what they see as one of the best cornerback rooms in the league. The Week 1 division-dog angle is the one flag they gave the Commanders.

Ryan Kramer (@KramerCentric) pick: Eagles -4.5

Sean Green (@SeanTGreen) pick: Eagles -4.5
