As mentioned, the Carolina Hurricanes came through for me (just barely – it took overtime) in Game 2, and now I’m stabbing them in the back and picking against them for Game 3. That’s because the series has shifted to the Vegas Golden Knights’ home turf for the next two games.
Historically, home ice in the Stanley Cup Finals gives a team a 55% chance at winning the game, which is a nice edge. And while the Golden Knights were solid in the desert during the regular season (20-12-9), they’ve been very protective of their turf in the postseason, winning six of eight games in front of their home fans.
Plus, the Hurricanes barely eked out a win over the Golden Knights in two games in Raleigh. Things are about to get tougher for them on the road.
