New Jersey Devils vs Dallas Stars
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Two streaking teams meet up tomorrow down in Texas, as the New Jersey Devils, winners of three straight and five of six, meet the Dallas Stars, who have reeled off five straight W’s. The Devils are getting it done the well-rounded way, ranking 11th in goals for and ninth in goals allowed, while the Stars put the D in The Big D, with the league’s best defense but an anemic offense.
Jake Allen’s days of starting every game in net for New Jersey are about to come to a close, as newly acquired Connor Hellebuyck is about ready to hit the ice (he’s not expected to start tomorrow, however). Dallas will have Jake Oettinger between the pipes, and he leads the NHL with three shutouts and is second in the league in both goals against and save percentage.
New Jersey is struggling on the road (1-2), while Dallas is a strong 4-2 at home, making them a 60% favorite to win tomrorow. Yet, the moneyline doesn’t reflect that.
Dallas on the moneyline is my best bet for Tuesday.
