Saturdays mean the UFC, and tomorrow the octagon is on the road, setting up shop in Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, the promotion’s first time in the Emerald City since 2013. For my best bet for Saturday, February 22nd: UFC Predictions, I’ve got a winning play for a catchweight fight going down on Saturday’s prelims. Let’s go!

UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs Song (AKA UFC Seattle)
Start Time: 6:00 PM EST (ESPN+)
The matchup of Nikolay Veretennikov and Austin Vanderford is an odd one, as Veretennikov was originally linked to this card before pulling out of his scheduled fight. Then earlier this week it was announced that Veretennikov was indeed going to compete, and he was facing a former Bellator fighter no one knew had signed with the UFC – Vanderford (aka Mr. Paige VanZant).
The two are fighting at 175 pounds to make the weight cut easier for Vanderford, who is coming in here on very short notice. And I expect Veretennikov to give him a harsh welcome to the UFC, as he’s a much better striker and has solid grappling too if he needs to use it against the wrestling-heavy attack of Vanderford.
And the best part is we’re getting Veretennikov as technically an underdog. If you really want to spice things up, take Veretennikov via T/KO since Vanderford has been knocked out in both of his losses
