NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS VS NORTHWESTERN WILDCATS
Start Time: 3:00 PM EST
That aforementioned Big Ten game would be the Nebraska Cornhuskers (16-9, 6-8) visiting the Northwestern Wildcats (13-12, 4-10). Not much was expected from either team heading into this season, and at least in that respect, they haven’t disappointed.
While the Cornhuskers’ overall and Big Ten records are far superior to the Wildcats’, when you look under the hood at the advanced stats, the two teams are much more evenly matched. If these two squads were meeting on a neutral court tomorrow, Nebraska would be expected to win by about one point. But they aren’t playing on a neutral court – they are playing at Northwestern’s Welsh-Ryan Arena, which swings the spread back into the home team’s favor. Northwestern on the spread is the first half of my parlay.
We’re parlaying that with over 141.5 points to be scored in this game. Northwestern games average 144 points this season; Nebraska games go to 148. The over it is then.
