I’m sticking around the rink for my best bet again tomorrow, as I’m beginning to pick up some momentum to hopefully end off the month strong. For my best bet for Thursday, January 23rd: NHL Predictions, we’re headed to Hockeytown – Little Caesars Arena in Detroit – for a battle between two Atlantic Division foes headed in opposite directions in the standings.

Montreal Canadiens vs Detroit Red Wings
Start Time – 7:00 PM EST
Could the Montreal Canadiens actually be good?! Projected for 77.5 points coming into this season, the Habs are on pace for 91. And they’re on a tear lately, winning two straight, four of five, and seven of their last nine games. The Detroit Red Wings, on the flip side, are underachieving expectations, and after an insane hot stretch where they won seven straight, have dropped their last three and four of five.
The Wings are also a very mediocre 12-11-2 at home, the ninth-worst record in the NHL. And welcoming Montreal to town isn’t likely to help that mark, as the Canadiens seem to have their number this season, beating them in their two matchups thus far. Yet, despite all this, we’re getting the Canadiens as dogs tomorrow on the moneyline. Montreal as road dogs is my best bet for the day.
