Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Picks January 22

Robbie Avila, Underdog Fantasy college basketball, January 22

We’ve officially entered ‘Heater’ territory with these article plays. Over the past five days, these plays are 13-1-1 with four days that would have paid. Three of them would have paid better than 5-to-1. Should we just call it a season? Go out on a hot streak? Absolutely not. Wednesday, January 22nd is another day of games and another chance to build an Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry. We’re going to see how far we can ride this hot streak.

Keep in mind that playing all three legs of our plays in Underdog Fantasy could win you 6X your money on a single entry. Let’s dig into tonight’s plays and remember to let it ride!

Des Watson Higher Than 1.5 3-Pointers Made

The Fordham Rams have a game at the Gentile Arena against the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers tonight. Fordham allows opponents to shoot 36.0% from beyond the arc. Ramblers guard Des Watson should find his way to at least two made three-pointers.

Watson averages 2.4 made three’s at home, and shoots 37.7% from range when playing at the Gentile Arena this year. He’s gone higher than 1.5 three-pointers made in 10 out of 18 games played this year.

This is one of the best plays on the board. Watson is comfortable shooting at home, generates enough volume to hit the number, and has an opponent that struggles to defend the perimeter. This is a great play to start an Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry with on January 22nd.

Robbie Avila Higher Than 6.5 Rebounds

The La Salle Explorers head to St. Louis for a game against the Billikens. La Salle comes into this match up allowing opponents to average 34.5 rebounds per game against. That’s 176th in the nation. This is a great spot to roll with the higher number on Robbie Avila rebounds.

Avila is currently averaging 7.1 rebounds per game at home. He’s gone higher than 6.5 rebounds in four straight games, and it hasn’t been particularly close. Avila looks fully recovered from his early season injuries, and he’s back to filling up the stat sheet.

La Salle allows opponents to grab 24.4 defensive rebounds per game this year. That’s 293rd in the country. Avila should be able to hang out around the rim on defense, and spend the night cleaning the glass. He should have no problem going higher than 6.5 rebounds in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry for January 22nd.

Jared Coleman-Jones Higher Than 5.5 Rebounds

The San Diego State Aztecs pay a visit to the Air Force Academy for a match up with the Falcons. These two teams just played on January 8th, and Aztecs forward Jared Coleman-Jones pulled down 14 rebounds. This is the rematch and his rebounds total is only 5.5. Let’s ride.

Coleman-Jones comes into this game averaging 5.3 rebounds per game away from San Diego. His total is set right at his average. He’s also gone higher than 5.5 boards in seven out of 16 games played. The 14 rebounds against Air Force is an outlier, but it’s so extreme that we have to go back to it.

Air Force is a mediocre rebounding team. The Falcons allow opponents to average 33.2 rebounds per game. That’s 110th in the nation. They also allow 22.7 defensive rebounds per game. That’s 181st in the nation.

We don’t have a great trend here, but these teams just played two weeks ago and Coleman-Jones killed the Falcons on the glass. Let’s run it back and go higher than 5.5 rebounds in an Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry today.
