Thursdays are always a quiet day on the NBA schedule, with only a handful of games normally scheduled. But tomorrow is ridiculous – ONE game is on the schedule. And – even worse – one of the teams involved is the Utah Jazz and the other – the Dallas Mavericks – has a hobbled Luka Doncic. Blech. Dallas Mavericks vs Utah Jazz

Start Time – 9:00 PM EST

The 2-8 Utah Jazz are crummy – they’re currently ranked as the worst team in the NBA and are the league’s lowest-scoring team, as well. And while the Dallas Mavericks are underperforming (based on expectations), currently sitting at 5-6, they still have Luka Doncic – banged-up knee or no banged-up knee (he is expected to play tomorrow). So things aren’t going the best in the land of the defending NBA Western Conference Champions, either.

Despite all this, the Mavericks are still good value on the spread. I have this game lined up at Dallas -12, so we’ll happily take it at only 8.5 points, thank you very much.

Since there’s only one game to bet on tomorrow, let’s make a play on the total also. I like the under 231.5 points. Both Dallas and Utah average 225 points per game this season, and if Luka isn’t going at 100%, the offensive firepower should be limited a bit.
