Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – October 7
Steven Kwan – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Perhaps one of the best bats in all of the game ones was Steven Kwan. The Guardians outfielder reached base three times and scored a pair of runs in the 7-0 victory. The walks are a big part of what I like about this number. He’s taken a free pass six times in his last four games, which should give us more opportunity for runs.
Tarik Skubal – Higher than 5.5 Strikeouts
It’s been a while since Skubal went below this projection. An August 18th run-in with the Yankees was the last time we saw less than six strikeouts for the presumed AL Cy Young winner. Before that one, you would have to go back to June 14th in a game with the Astros to find another. While the Guardians put the bat on the ball, he fanned six against them earlier this year. I like him to keep the trend going.
Salvador Perez – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Having previously played in the same division. Perez has a long history with Monday’s starter Carlos Rodon. The Royals backstop has 26 career at bats against the lefty and has hits in half of those. Even more impressive is the fact that three of those 13 hits are dingers. Perez is also riding a four-game hit streak at the moment, so he’s hot even outside of the matchup.
