Daily World Cup Best Bets – June 14th
Australia vs. Turkey
Kickoff – 12:00 pm EST
BC Place – Vancouver, Canada
Broadcast – FS1
The early kickoff takes place north of the border and features a bad matchup for the Aussies. Since the calendar turned to 2026, Turkey has had a pair of qualifiers and then two international friendlies to get ready. In the 360 minutes they were on the pitch, they conceded just one goal. You could point to the play of keeper Ugurcan Çakir, but the bottom line is he’s barely seeing any shots. That’s not a good sign for an Australia team that has only put three shots on net in their last two friendlies.
Take Turkey to win this outright and expect it to be a low scoring affair.
Best Bets for Australia/Turkey: Turkey ML (-145) and Under 2.5 Goals (-125)
Germany vs. Curaçao
Kickoff – 1:00 pm EST
NRG Stadium – Houston, Texas
Broadcast – FOX
While the opener is likely to give us a low score, this one isn’t. We could dig into some deep analysis of the types of players to score, the keepers, or the tactics. However, it simply doesn’t matter. Curaçao is a team that likely wouldn’t have made it without the expanded field, and Germany is a top 10 team in the World Soccer rankings.
If you’re looking for a way to get a touch less chalky, an anytime goal scorer bet for Florian Wirtz (-130) seems like a decent play. They should score plenty and he’s had a hot hand lately.
Best Bets for Germany/Curaçao: Germany -3.5 (-105) and Over 3.5 Goals (-205)
Japan vs. Netherlands
Kickoff – 4:00 pm EST
AT&T Stadium – Arlington, Texas
Broadcast – FOX
Japan has been in fine form lately. They have five straight contests in which they kept a clean sheet. That includes fixtures with England, Scotland and Ghana. With the Netherlands not exactly lighting up the scoreboard, that’s a reason to love the under in this one. However, despite that solid defense, I don’t think they will hold up against a Dutch team that is likely to turn up the pressure to get a result.
Cody Gakpo will be a big part of that offensive push. Between international and club, he’s logged multiple shots in four straight contests. He’s averaging 2.8 shots in that span and is fresh off a brace against Uzbekistan. I like his chances to find a crack in this Japanese defense, and with Japan not playing offensively minded, it may be hard for them to return fire.
Best Bets for Japan/Netherlands: Netherlands ML (+100) and Under 2.5 Goals (-115)
Ivory Coast vs. Ecuador
Kickoff – 7:00 pm EST
Lincoln Financial Field – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Broadcast – FS1
After suffering an upset to Egypt in the African Cup of Nations, Ivory Coast has been out for blood. They rounded out their prep work winning all three friendlies in fine form – outscoring opponents 7-1. That run included seven different goal scorers. And these were not simply easy tune ups. They blew South Korea out by a score of 4-0 and got a late winner to top tournament favorite, France.
A quick scan of the Ecuador results might bring some confidence from them as well, but they really didn’t test themselves. Even their win over Saudi Arabia was ugly, getting outpossessed and giving up a sloppy late goal. They will need to look better than that against a game Ivory Coast squad.
Best Bets for Ivory Coast/Ecuador: Ivory Coast ML (+250) and Over 1.5 Goals (-165)
Sweden vs. Tunisia
Kickoff – 10:00 pm EST
Estadio BBVA – Guadalupe, Mexico
Broadcast – FS1
Sweden saved their qualification for the last possible moment. As a result, I think the books are sleeping on them a bit. However, March wins over Ukraine and Poland with six goals scored says a lot about their makeup. You also have to like how Viktor Gyökeres has looked, both for club and country. The Arsenal striker had four goals over those two qualifiers and his ability to create for himself should make Sweden dangerous.
They won’t have to be too dangerous against Tunisia – who has been shutout in three straight friendlies. Since leaving the African Cup of Nations, they’ve scored just once and it was against a lackluster Haiti squad.
Best Bets for Sweden/Tunisia: Sweden -1.5 (+270) and Over 2.5 Goals (+150)
