Denver Broncos at New York Jets Preview and Predictions

Denver Broncos at New York Jets Preview and Predictions

A week full of narratives and revenge angles and this one may take the cake. The Denver Broncos fresh from their first victory of the season head to the Meadowlands to take on the New York Jets. The bigger story may be on the sidelines as former Broncos head coach and now offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett goes up against his former team. Sean Payton who took over as the head coach for the Broncos said that his predecessor did “one of the worst coaching jobs in NFL history.” There may be some extra juice on the side of the Jets. Below are my Broncos at Jets Preview and Predictions!

As I mentioned above the Broncos got their first victory of the season in convincing fashion against the Buccaneers. Meanwhile, the Jets have extended rest in this game as they played on Thursday night in Week 3 against the Patriots. The big news for the Broncos is losing their linebacker Alex Singleton for the rest of the season to a torn ACL.

The Jets offense continues to build confidence and chemistry as the weeks progress. Aaron Rodgers who didn’t play in the preseason looks to continue building the trust with his receiving group. The Jets defense accounted for seven sacks last week against the Patriots.

Best Bets

The Jets come into this game with the rest advantage as they have an extra three days of rest. The key in this game will be in the trenches. If the Jets are able to generate pressure against the Broncos’ offensive line and Bo Nix, it could turn into a long day. However, thus far this season we have seen favorites of six or more points have not been faring well. In fact, teams that are favored by six or more points are 1-12 ATS!

I do believe points will be at a premium in this game and expecting both defenses to show up in this matchup. Both teams are top 10 in run stop win rate this season and the Broncos are #2 in pass rush win rate. Whoever wins the battle in the trenches wins this game. I expect the Broncos to keep it close!

Best Bet: Broncos +7.5 and under 39.5
