Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – March 24
Darius Garland – Lower than 20.5 Points
It’s been four straight games of Garland coming in under this projection. Some of that has been due to his tweaked ankle. That ankle doesn’t appear to be fully recovered, which is part of the reason I like this projection. Another reason is that the Heat rank 4th in the NBA in points allowed. Garland is 0-3 reaching this projection against the Heat on the year, so let’s stay on the ‘lower than’.
Kawhi Leonard – Higher than 7.5 1st Quarter Points
Just two nights ago, we rode with Leonard’s first quarter points ‘higher than’. It was set at 8.0, and he went off for 13 points in the first. That’s part of a longer run of incredible first quarter performances. Now, the projection has confusingly dropped down half a point. With a trend like that in place, we’d be silly to play it any other way.
Chet Holmgren – Higher than 3.5 1st Quarter Points
Over the last three games, Holmgren has come out of the gate hot. He is averaging 7.3 points per first quarter in that span. He’s taken at least one three pointer per first quarter in each of those games as well, which bodes well for his point totals. Milwaukee being 23rd in the NBA in opponents’ scoring shouldn’t hurt either.
