Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – January 12
De’Aaron Fox – Lower than 27.5 Points
I hate to fade my namesake (no relation), but De’Aaron Fox is struggling mightily for the Sacramento Kings currently. The star guard, who is averaging 27.9 ppg for the season, hasn’t broken the 28-point barrier in five straight games and six of his last seven. So far in January (six games), he’s only averaging 19.5 points per game. Playing on the road in Philadelphia against their tough defense, I think his scoring drought continues.
Myles Turner – Lower than 9.5 Rebounds + Assists
I’m keeping the ‘lower than’ trend going and I’m getting in on Myles Turner’s lower than 9.5 rebounds plus assists. He got 16 of these combined last game, but that was against Washington, who aren’t a real NBA team. This is the only time he’s beaten the 9.5 boards plus dimes total in six games, and if you want to go way back, he’s only topped 9.5 twice in his last 16 games. I don’t he makes it number three tomorrow in Atlanta.
Trae Young – Higher than 29.5 Points
Let’s stick in Atlanta and take the higher than 29.5 points for their star player, Trae Young. Atlanta and Indiana have at least one thing in common, and that is that neither team plays any defense. Young averages 27.8 points per game this season playing against the whole league. But in this sure-to-be high-powered offensive game on Friday, I’m expecting him to at least touch 30 points.
