Well, that was easy. I figured the Saints would be able to travel into Denver and get a W without too much of a fight. Granted, my column last week came out before we learned that the Broncos wouldn’t have a QB available. That might have helped just a little bit. About time luck was on my side. Hopefully that luck sticks around for Week 13 Survivor Pool Picks.
Other than the New Orleans win, the other teams highlighted last week pulled through except for the Rams. I warned you about trusting Jared Goff and asked the question if the Rams were actually a good team. Welp, I think we have our answer. The LA Rams are frauds. Hopefully you chose elsewhere.
Congrats if you are still alive and well. Making it through 12 weeks is no small feat. We got some large points spreads this coming week. Let’s take a look and grab some winners in Week 13 Survivor Pool Picks!
NFL Week 13 Survivor Pool Picks
Miami Dolphins (-11 vs Cincinnati Bengals)
That’s two weeks in a row with the Dolphins on this list believe or not. They let the Jets hang around too long but eventually won 20-3. With Ryan Fitzpatrick back under center, Miami is a better team and making a push for the playoffs.
With that said, this pick is more about fading the 2-8-1, Joe Burrow-less Bengals. Brandon Allen should not be starting at QB in the NFL and I find it hard to believe this team could knock off a 7-4 Dolphin squad. Miami needs this game while the Bengals are already making vacation plans.
Minnesota Vikings (-9.5 vs Jacksonville Jaguars)
Last time I had the Vikings on this list, I was foolish enough to take them and I got burned big time. Yes, the Jags have lost 10 in a row but regardless of who they play at QB (it was Mike Glennon last week) they still put up a fight. This time they lost to the Browns by 2.
On the other hand, Minnesota needed a TD by Chad Beebe with under a minute left to edge out the Panthers 28-27.
Don’t pick this game. I’m not saying Jacksonville is going to win but they’ll at least cover. The game will be tight so it could go either way. I can’t get behind Kirk Cousins again and I’d urge you not to either.
Kansas City Chiefs (-14 vs Denver Broncos)
I’ll keep this short and to the point. If you haven’t taken the Chiefs yet, I envy you. Take them now and we’ll catch up next week. It’s that simple and it doesn’t really matter if the Broncos have a QB available to play or not. Taking the Chiefs to win straight up is always an easy and accurate prediction.
Las Vegas Raiders (-8 @ New York Jets)
Fade the Jets on a weekly basis. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Las Vegas was 6-3 and had won three straight before dropping their last two games to Kansas City and Atlanta. The 43-6 loss to the Falcons was extremely perplexing and makes you wonder if everything is okay with Gruden’s gang. Their COVID issues might be at least partly to blame but still, 43-6 to Atlanta?
Playing the Jets is certainly a get right game but I’m a little hesitant due to last week. Maybe I’m getting too cute but tread lightly here.
NFL Week 13 Survivor Pool Picks Winner!
Seattle Seahawks (-10 vs New York Giants)
There’s been a Colt McCoy sighting. When Giants QB Daniel Jones went out with an injury last week, McCoy entered the game for the G-Men who were able to hold off the Bengals to earn their 4th win of the year. Jones is expected to miss more time, so McCoy will be under center in Seattle which cant bode well for NY.
I’m all over the Seahawks here even on a short week. Big Russ ain’t losing to Colt McCoy, Wayne Gallman and whoever else is in this NY backfield. Seattle will continue to beat up on the awful NFC East. Let’s go Seahawks!
