Alec Burks continues to be the top-rated player available on the majority of fantasy basketball waiver wires out there. He still is shooting far worse than he has over the course of his career, so you’d think (hope?) that that will correct itself sooner rather than later. Other than that, he provides you value across pretty much all stat categories, inconsistency be damned. Plus, eligibility at three positions doesn’t hurt.
Dorian Finney-Smith – Dallas – SF/PF – 35%
10.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.2 spg, 0.5 bpg, 1.9 3PT/G, 43.2% FG, 68.3% FT, 1.0 tpg
After dipping off our fantasy basketball waiver wire list, DFS makes his return this week. That’s on the strength of three-straight double-digit scoring games, where he averaged 11.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.7 apg, 2.0 spg, while hitting eight three-pointers. Our waiver wire list is normally packed full of guards, which makes forward Finney-Smith even more valuable.
Malik Beasley – Minnesota – PG/SG – 40%
12.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.5 apg, 0.5 spg, 0.2 bpg, 2.9 3PT/G, 37.8% FG, 74.3% FT, 0.7 tpg
It’s time to jump onto the Malik Beasley train while the going is good, assuming he’s available on your fantasy basketball waiver wire. The inconsistent guard, who like Burks is shooting way worse than normal for his career, is on another heater. He’s gone for 12, 18, 20, and 21 points over his last four games. Over the last week, he’s averaged 19.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.0 spg, and has hit 12 three-pointers, including seven in his last game.
De’Anthony Melton – Memphis – PG/SG – 41%
9.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.6 spg, 0.5 bpg, 1.6 3PT/G, 38.8% FG, 69.6% FT, 1.4 tpg
We’re really hitting on a lot of players having poor shooting years on this week’s fantasy basketball waiver wire list, but hey beggars can’t be choosy. Let’s welcome Memphis guard De’Anthony Melton back to the column, as averages of 12.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.7 spg, and 3.0 3PT over the past week has helped him secure his spot. That’s some nice board numbers from a guard.
Reggie Bullock – Dallas – SG/SF – 52%
7.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.0 apg, 0.5 spg, 0.1 bpg, 1.8 3PT/G, 41.0% FG, 84.4% FT, 0.5 tpg
While you never want to see a teammate get injured, Tim Hardaway Jr. being sidelined has been a boon for Reggie Bullock. The veteran wing has scored in double-digits in seven-straight games, including topping the 20-point mark in four of those contests. Over the past week, he’s averaged 19.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.3 spg, and almost five three-pointers made per game. If he’s still available on your fantasy basketball waiver wire, grab him now.
Javonte Green – Chicago – PG/SG/SF – 38%
7.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.1 apg, 0.9 spg, 0.6 bpg, 0.4 3PT/G, 52.4% FG, 81.9% FT, 0.5 tpg
While the above stat line isn’t so awe-inducing, third-year man Javonte Green has been on a tear over the past couple of weeks for the Bulls. Last night was the first game over the past six where he failed to score 11 points, but he still chipped in with eight rebounds. Over the past week of games, even with last night’s dud, he has averaged 12.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.3 spg, and 1.5 bpg. A real nice, well-rounded stat line for a player sitting on fantasy basketball waiver wires.
