After a rare week off, the UFC is back in action this weekend, heading across the world to the Galaxy Arena in Macau, China. Bantamweights take center stage this Saturday, with a former two-time UFC champion in the main event. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Macau, I’ve got your winner for Saturday’s main event. MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Macau
UFC Fight Night: Song vs Figueiredo (aka UFC Macau)
Start Time: 7:00 AM EST
Check the early start time this weekend – don’t sleep in. If the bookies are to be trusted (and normally they are), Saturday’s main event is a squash match between China’s Song Yadong and the aforementioned former champion, Brazil’s Deiveson Figueiredo.
While I think the line is far too wide, I’m in on the favorite to win, Song. Figueiredo is well past his prime at this point, and despite being a flyweight, he missed the bantamweight weight limit last time out, not a good sign for an aging fighter. Song, ten years Figueiredo’s junior, is going to be far more active striking and win this fight.
