My God, was Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Second Round series between the Buffalo Sabres and the Montreal Canadiens drunk, the first period especially, when the teams exchanged goals seconds apart. In the end, the Habs overwhelmed the Sabres on their home ice and won 6-3.
Now the Canadiens are back home in Montreal with the chance to wrap up the series, and I think they get the job done. The Sabres have yet to be able to string back-to-back wins together in this series, and the momentum (for what it’s worth) is definitely on the Canadiens side heading into action tomorrow. After going 2-3 on their home ice so far these playoffs, you’d have to imagine things will revert to the mean, and the Habs will win in front of their raucous home crowd on a Saturday night in Montreal.
