The guys started with the setting. They talked about Mohegan Sun, called Providence a semi-home dog, and noted it is Nebraska’s first true road game, behind enemy lines. The pitch was that a Providence crowd makes all the difference.
On the roster side, the guys liked what Providence has put together under its new coach, who won 25 games at South Florida last season, and said the Big East schools are clearly spending money. They said it is hard to read much into either team yet, since both have played a bunch of nobodies, and that Nebraska is replacing a lot.
One of the guys went further and called Providence the dog that wins outright, with a sprinkle on the money line. The group ended up on the Friars plus the points, and said they were ready to extend an olive branch back to Providence after the Kim English and Ed Cooley bit.
