- Sean Green (@SeanTGreen): UMass +5
- Colby Dant (@TheColbyD): UMass +5
This game had a rivalry feel on air. The show noted the two teams played last season and UMass won by two, and the guys called that a little embarrassing for Boston College. It was also pointed out that this is a pretty exciting time to be a Boston College fan, with a new head coach who is the son of Bill Murray and a point guard transfer from Oakland, California who put up 22 points, 5 boards, 4 assists and a steal in the opener.
UMass is the side the guys wanted. The show called it UMass’s best team in some time, said UMass won outright as a dog for them earlier, and liked the road win against Troy and the early offensive rebounding numbers. Five points is a lot, they said, and UMass can hang with this Boston College team. Frank Martin got a shout too, and the UMass case ended on “Let’s go. Frank Martin.”
There were a few smaller pushes. The show noted a Boston College transfer from Australia who went to media days is out for a couple of weeks. It was also noted this is a true road spot for UMass to open the year, and the Bill Murray angle might bring Boston College too much hype and attention. The guys all ended in the same place: UMass +5.
