College Basketball Picks For November 4th – NCAA Basketball Banter & Best Bets Recap

The College Basketball Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast breaks down every game on the College Basketball slate on Wednesday, November 4th. Colby Dant (@TheColbyD), Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac), Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_), and Troy Chewning (@Troychewning) discuss their favorite games and give out their best bets.

Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) is joined by Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_) and Troy Chewning (@Troychewning) for college basketball picks for November 4th, with Colby Dant (@thecolbyd) over on the main show. All three lock Wichita State minus 14.5 against Northridge, and South Dakota plus 120 gets two votes for dog of the night.

Game Balls From Night Two

Night two was a short slate stuffed with buy games, but Noah Bieniek still cashed big. He went 7-2 overall and 3-0 on his locks and moneyline dog. That dog was South Dakota State, so the game balls start in Manhattan. The Jackrabbits jumped Kansas State early in Casey Alexander’s debut. Then K-State rallied and even took a seven-point lead with 10 minutes left. But South Dakota State made 10 threes and finished the job. Davis Kern, a 6-foot-9 redshirt freshman, went for 24 points, five threes and eight boards. He didn’t play at all last year. Noah Bieniek also watched K-State botch a set play late in a tight game, and he has the Jackrabbits in the Summit League title race.

LSU got the next ball because almost the whole roster showed up eligible. Donovan Dent posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 assists. A 6-foot-8 newcomer added a 14-and-14 night with five assists and six steals. Noah Bieniek thinks the Tigers go seven or eight deep and calls them an NCAA tournament team. Meanwhile, a former Tom Izzo starter and a Kansas State transfer are coming off the bench. Ryan McIntyre admitted his New Orleans lock looked bad within five minutes. North Florida was the bigger surprise. The Ospreys won at Cal Baptist with five guys in double figures and 50% shooting from the floor. They did it while hitting just 25% from deep, so Troy Chewning handed them a ball.

Rhode Island was the best lock of the day for Noah Bieniek, and the Rams buried Holy Cross. They had close to 60 points in the first half, and Jonah Hinton hit six threes. So URI is his stock-up team. Georgia Tech also covered with ease against Hampton, winning the glass something like 59 to 33. Duquesne then survived Fort Wayne. The Dukes trailed by six with 12 minutes left, and Fort Wayne made 13 threes. But Duquesne dominated the boards and won by seven after a one-possession game with 30 seconds left. Missouri closed the list by double covering against Cleveland State, a game the guys picked wrong. Seven Tigers scored in double figures, and Mark Mitchell dished 10 assists.

Lock Battles At Butler And High Point

Wednesday’s slate is only 10 games, and the first two produced lock battles right away. Butler lays 24.5 against Fairleigh Dickinson after winning by 30 on opening night. Ryan McIntyre thinks that number is an overreaction and takes the points with FDU. Noah Bieniek sees it the other way. Butler took 44 threes against Lafayette under its new coach, and FDU has a weak perimeter defense. So he lays it, and Troy Chewning locks Butler in a battle with Mac. Next, High Point lays 30.5 against Maryland Eastern Shore. Wake Forest was a 33.5-point favorite over the Hawks, and Mac reads this spread as another overreaction. He is betting Eastern Shore because High Point is coming off a midnight road game.

Troy Chewning doesn’t buy the schedule angle. A midnight tip that ends around 3 a.m. is a smaller shift than games ending at 7 a.m. So he lays the 30.5 with High Point and also takes the team total over 89.5. Noah Bieniek backs the over with tempo numbers. Eastern Shore gave up 83 to Wake, which ranks 97th in tempo, and High Point sits 96th. He also picks High Point after its 15-point win over Liberty. But he stays off it as a bet, because Washington State visits later this weekend and this is a sandwich spot. Ryan McIntyre, meanwhile, says High Point wins by 27 and keeps Eastern Shore for the battle.

The Locks In Our College Basketball Picks For November 4th

Saint Joseph’s lays 10.5 at home against Longwood, and Ryan McIntyre and Troy Chewning double lock the Hawks. Steve Donahue is in year two, now the full-time head coach instead of the interim. Mac still sees a talented team even after it lost its guards. He expects St. Joe’s to blow it open. Longwood already beat Pfeiffer, which Mac said sounds like a vaccine, so Troy calls this the anti-Pfeiffer play. Noah Bieniek goes the other way. Both rosters were rebuilt through the portal, and he prefers the team with a game already under its belt. So he takes the points with Longwood, though he admits it is not a game he loves.

Wichita State minus 14.5 against CSUN is the unanimous play of the night. Ryan McIntyre is bullish on the Shockers and has them winning the American this year. Noah Bieniek makes the case on style. Andy Newman’s portal-built CSUN team wants to run, but Wichita brought back five guys who played double-digit minutes. Paul Mills also has a reputation for stingy defense, so Noah expects the Shockers to keep CSUN out of transition. Troy Chewning likes Newman but put it bluntly: lay it and forget about it. That makes it a triple lock, and all three hosts later name Wichita State a favorite lock.

Auburn lays 26.5 against Southeastern Louisiana, and that is another triple lock. Ryan McIntyre thinks SELA will get more out of less, but it doesn’t have the horses to hang. Noah Bieniek points to the Auburn backcourt. Pettiford can be erratic, but he and Overton give the Tigers two returning guards who can run the offense. The rest of the roster is experienced Division I talent, so Noah doesn’t expect SELA’s turnover-hunting defense to work. He also liked how Steven Pearl coached down the stretch last season, especially in the NIT. Mac’s final word was that Auburn is a great front-runner team that could win by 50.

South Dakota As A Short Home Dog

Northern Kentucky is a 2.5-point road favorite at South Dakota, and this game drew locks from everyone. Ryan McIntyre takes the Coyotes plus 2.5 and also likes them at plus 120 on the moneyline. He thinks the line overreacts to the Norse beating UTEP. The Coyotes have also been kind to the guys as a home dog. Troy Chewning adds that Northern Kentucky is on the back end of a double road trip. Noah Bieniek goes to the total, his first one of the season on the show. He’s on the over 160.5, and Troy pointed out 159.5 is available too. NKU dragged UTEP into a 150-point game. South Dakota ranked second and 54th in tempo the last two seasons. Noah also thinks the Yotes win and cover.

The West Coast Late Window

Cal lays 15.5 against Radford after opening at 14.5, and Ryan McIntyre and Troy Chewning double lock the Highlanders. Radford stayed on the West Coast after a competitive game at San Francisco, so it should be acclimated. Cal, meanwhile, opened against Adams State. Troy also sees a double lookahead spot, with Cal facing Houston on Sunday and USC soon after. Noah Bieniek leans Cal because he thinks Mark Madsen wins the coaching matchup, but he isn’t betting it. Mac also likes the Radford first-half moneyline. The full-game moneyline sits at 11 to 1, and the guys guessed the first half lands around 5-1 or 6-1.

Santa Clara lays 17.5 against Milwaukee, and this one is a true lock battle. Ryan McIntyre is on Bart Lundy and the points after the Panthers lost by 32 at USC. He thinks Lundy gets his team’s attention and Santa Clara is still a work in progress. Noah Bieniek answers with Lundy’s defensive ranks the last four years: 264th, 299th, 142nd and 313th. Santa Clara also shot 42% from three while blowing out Towson in game one under Herb Sendek. So Noah lays it with the Broncos, and Troy Chewning joins him. Meanwhile, St. Mary’s hosts North Dakota State after needing overtime in its opener. Noah and Troy both like the Gaels to bounce back, and Mac agrees but isn’t betting it.

The nightcap is the cleanest spot on the board. Queens played a 9 a.m. game, then had to fly from Charlotte to Los Angeles to face Loyola Marymount. Ryan McIntyre loves the Queens guards but says the spot is all LMU. Noah Bieniek adds that Stan Johnson’s teams have defended well, and LMU was rebuilt big through the portal. Troy Chewning also noticed the Queens bigs getting frustrated with foul calls in their first game. So all three lock LMU, and Troy sprinkles the moneyline too. The chat flagged 6.5 as the number at almost every book. Mac expects a tight game until Queens runs out of legs late.

MYBOOKIE BONUS

Locks And The Dog

Noah Bieniek couldn’t find a dog at first, so he went with three locks. Wichita State is his favorite play, and he expects the Shockers to win by 15 or more. Then comes the over 159.5 between Northern Kentucky and South Dakota, followed by Auburn minus 26.5. Troy Chewning locks Wichita State, Auburn and St. Joe’s, and his dog is South Dakota at home. Ryan McIntyre makes Wichita State his top lock and says the old Wichita crowds are back. He first named LMU as his second lock, then swapped in South Dakota plus 2.5. His dog is the Radford first-half moneyline. Since Mac moved the Coyotes, Noah grabs South Dakota plus 120 as his dog and thinks they can win it outright.
