College Basketball Picks For November 3rd – NCAA Basketball Banter & Best Bets Recap

The College Basketball Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast breaks down every game on the College Basketball slate on Tuesday, November 3rd. Colby Dant (@TheColbyD), Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac), and Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_) discuss their favorite games and give out their best bets.

Colby Dant (@thecolbyd), Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) and Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_) look back on the 24-hour college basketball tournament in Rock Hill on almost no sleep, then make their college basketball picks for November 3rd, with a sign-off shout to Troy Chewning (@Troychewning). Noah Bieniek’s top play is Rhode Island minus 17.5, and Ryan McIntyre takes Purdue Fort Wayne on the moneyline at Duquesne.

Sleepless In Rock Hill At The 24-Hour Tournament

Colby Dant opens the show on 45 minutes of sleep in 48 hours, and he wears it proudly. The crew spent opening day at the 24-hour tournament in Rock Hill, South Carolina. But the hotel sold out the first night, so nobody had a bed. Ryan McIntyre swears his car nap ran 22 minutes, from 8:22 to 8:44. He also has a photo of the Queens and Winthrop tip-off to prove he made it back. Colby is not buying it. Meanwhile, Noah Bieniek worked the slate from home with a new monitor added to his command center. Then the show takes a detour into Mac’s Sunday brunch date. Colby blames that brunch for making him late to the High Point game.

High Point opened the event against Liberty at midnight, and the gym was jumping. Mac heard the school bused around 500 students over, and both fan bases traveled. Colby was on the wrong side of the Liberty play. He thought Liberty made a mistake trying to match High Point’s speed instead of slowing the game down. Then Noah pointed to the second half, when High Point hit seven threes and pulled away. Also, Liberty lost leading scorer Xander Carter to cramps after he scored 21, and he never came back. So the Flames were done. Mac says High Point is loaded and will win the Big South again. Colby calls them a real threat to a Power Five team if they make the Big Dance.

The game of the day was Grambling against Northern Illinois, and the guys had Grambling plus 8.5. Isaiah Miranda was balling out before reported stomach trouble took him out of the game. Colby thinks he might have scored 50 with a full night. But the bigger story was the physicality. Grambling picked up full court in the first half and contested every shot. Before tip, coach Patrick Crary said his team would be the more physical one. Then they went out and proved it. Northern Illinois only made it close late, after Miranda left. Mac says Grambling is going to be a problem in the SWAC. Also, Noah adds that Miranda was a former top 100 recruit who played under 10 minutes a game at Long Island last year.

McNeese Was The Best Team In Rock Hill

App State was a 6:00 AM haymaker, and the guys locked up the App State moneyline. It was 23 to 3 before anybody could blink, so the game was over in the first five minutes. Colby still worries about the free throw shooting. But he calls this the most athletic App State team he has seen, and Mac thinks they contend in the Sun Belt. Then Queens and Winthrop delivered the most intense game of the event. The guys bet Queens, and Jordan Watford was an absolute dog. Winthrop made 16 threes, though, and Queens got conservative late. So Colby thinks two more minutes might have flipped it to Winthrop.

McNeese was the most impressive team in the building, and Colby says it loudly. UAB jumped out to a lead of 10 or 11 points early. Then Larry Johnson took over with 31 points, five boards, four assists and two steals. Colby thinks this McNeese team is way better than last year’s, with more scorers and more length. He also calls them the team to beat in the tournament, ahead of High Point. Mac saw the same thing. Every time UAB got within eight or nine, McNeese answered with back-to-back threes or a stop. Noah was on McNeese, too. He points out UAB has lost one of its first two games outright in each of the last four years. Furman then closed the event by making the plays down the stretch against Bethune-Cookman.

Penny Hardaway Cashes And Oklahoma Gets Beef Chow Mein

Noah hands his first Power Five game ball to Memphis. Memphis beat Iowa State 80 to 76 at the Sanford Pentagon as a double-digit dog. The line got to 17, and Colby is still mad he could not get a wager in. The name to know is Jaylen Reed, a 5-foot-10 senior guard who transferred in from Northwestern. Also, Luke Almendar posted 18 points and eight boards before fouling out. Then the Penny talk starts. Colby calls Penny Hardaway one of the best coaches you can back as a dog. And Noah has the receipts, citing a 35 and 19 record against the spread as an underdog, per Google AI.

BYU rallied late to beat Ohio State, and Noah thinks Rob Wright is going to be that dude all year. Ohio State’s back court also fouled out, which let BYU take over in the second half. UCLA impressed Noah even more, and the Bruins led Arizona by as many as 16. Trent Perry and Jalen Petty look like a dynamic guard duo. Then Florida held off Miami in Tampa, and Colby cashed his Gators bet in a lock battle win over Mac. Ruben Chinyelu was a monster with three blocks and 14 boards. Florida also shot 43% from three. So Mac, despite the loss, calls Florida the best team in the country on November 3rd.

Then came the funniest result of the night. Texas A&M Commerce went into Norman and beat Oklahoma, a 29.5-point favorite, outright. Bo Aldridge had 22 points, three boards, five assists and two steals for the Golden Lions. Meanwhile, Oklahoma went 5 of 20 from three and 17 of 32 from the free throw line. So Colby jokes that Porter Moser should be fired, and he kind of means it. Mac thinks Moser is still the coach tomorrow, but he doubts Moser makes it through the year. Also, shout out to Franklin from the bar, who took the Commerce moneyline and cashed big.

The mid-major calls cashed, too. Colby and Mac both called Youngstown State on the moneyline against St. Bonaventure. The Penguins won on the road as 9.5 to 10.5-point dogs, and Holmstrom posted 26 points and eight boards. UMass also crushed Troy, leading by 22 at one point in the second half. But UT Martin hurt. Colby sprinkled the moneyline, and Tulane won 100 to 98 in double overtime. At least the spread cashed. Then FAU beat Long Island by 14, and Long Island failed to cover 10.5. That 14 was the biggest lead of the game, so Colby is still angry about it.

College Basketball Picks November 3rd Locks And Lock Battles

The November 3rd card is 19 games, mostly big favorites, and nobody loves it. Noah comes in with only four bets. All three hosts lay the 26.5 with Tennessee against Wofford, and Noah notes Wofford projects to start three D2 guys. The first real lock is Boston College minus 17.5 against Wagner, because it is Luke Murray’s first game. Colby calls it a vibes play and says BC wins by 20. Noah joins him, calling Murray an offensive whiz. So that is a double lock. Then Hampton plus 15.5 at Georgia Tech becomes a triple lock. Mac likes Ivan Thomas in year three and sees a 10-point game.

Then the lock battles start. Colby bets Holy Cross plus 17.5 at Rhode Island and calls a Rhode Island win by 11. Mac locks Holy Cross with him. But Noah takes the other side and locks Rhode Island. Holy Cross projects a back court of two D2 guys and a freshman point guard, and he thinks URI wins by 20. Also, New Orleans plus 23.5 at LSU splits the room. Colby and Mac double lock New Orleans because of the circus in Baton Rouge. Noah locks LSU, since Donovan Dent is eligible and Will Wade’s first game should be loud.

South Carolina minus 16.5 against Stetson is a triple lock. Stetson is on a back-to-back after covering against Clemson, and Mac says the Gamecocks have big issues if they cannot cover. Purdue Fort Wayne plus 10.5 at Duquesne is another triple lock, since Terrance Ginyard’s eligibility is in limbo. Colby also locks Sam Houston plus 26.5 at Alabama, with Aidan Holloway suspended for two games. Then Mac locks Cleveland State plus 26.5 at Missouri. Mac and Noah also double lock South Dakota State plus 11.5 at Kansas State. Colby adds a lock on Cal Baptist against North Florida. Finally, Noah flies solo on Lipscomb plus 20.5 at Iowa.

Two Top Plays And A Dog Apiece

Each host closes with two top plays and a moneyline dog. Colby goes with Cal Baptist minus 8.5 at home against North Florida, then South Carolina against Stetson. His dog is Purdue Fort Wayne to win outright at Duquesne. Noah’s favorite play is Rhode Island minus 17.5 against Holy Cross, and he adds LSU minus 22.5 in Will Wade’s first game. His dog is South Dakota State, because he thinks Kansas State spent its money on the Jerome Tang buyout. Mac fades two SEC home teams by taking the big numbers with Cleveland State and New Orleans. And his dog is the Mastodons, Fort Wayne at plus 390 on the moneyline.
