Football Pick of the Day (October 29th): NFL Week 8 Spread Pick
Carolina Panthers vs Green Bay Packers
8:15pm – Thursday – October 29th
The Panthers are a team that relies heavily on the passing game. The Packers are a team that ranks in the top ten of pass defenses. Something is going to have to give.
The thing I expect to give is the offense from the Panthers. While Bryce Young has been averaging close to 300 yards per game, he also crumbled with a little pressure last week. The Buccaneers held him to just 169 yards and picked him twice. He was also sacked five times in that game.
In addition to the strong passing defense, the Packers have a better pass rush than Tampa Bay. They have the same amount of sacks and even more quarterback hurries. If that’s not enough, that pressure has produced more takeaways.
With the way that the offense struggled last week and a short week to prepare, I don’t expect the Panthers to put up a big number. If that’s the case, the Packers should cover with ease.
