The ups and downs of the NFL have been hitting hard this season! If you are still alive in your NFL survivor pool, or entered in a second-chance pool, or a third, maybe by now it’s a fourth-chance pool. We’ve got you covered! Let’s take a look at the three best teams for this week’s NFL survivor picks for Week 7.
Last week in this article, we talked about avoiding the Los Angeles Rams because they were going to be too popular of a pick, and it was a very bad spot for the team. Hopefully you were able to avoid losing on them as the Cardinals once again struck. This week the spreads are tight, and the pickings are slim. San Francisco will be one of the top two plays; they are a team I’m avoiding in Survivor this week on the road at Atlanta.
The Lock: Houston Texans
Houston will likely be the most popular team in Survivor this week. That’s a good reason to avoid them if you want to take one of the plays below. However, they are clearly the best play on the board this week, and I’m just trying to survive and get to Week 8. The team did elect not to take the bye after their London win. They’ll travel home to take on JJ McCarthy and the New York Giants. That could be considered a big letdown spot for the team coming back from a slugfest with a division mate overseas; you can see how they’d overlook this game. But they can’t. At just 2-4, they have to win games, and they have to do it now.
This Texans defense will absolutely destroy JJ McCarthy, who has now been named the starter for the Giants. Nobody knows who their running backs are, not even John Harbaugh. They’ve been on one hell of a roller coaster ride this season. This is going to be a big downturn in that roller coaster. Give me the much better Texans team.
The Backup: Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings are fresh off their bye week and rested up for this game against the Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Tennessee Titans that got their GM Chris Ballard fired. Now the rumors are flying that Jonathan Taylor could be on his way out of town, and things aren’t going well for this 2-4 Colts team.
On the other side, Minnesota has just been doing what they do. A new quarterback, starting backups, and Brian Flores with a killer defense. They are one of the last remaining undefeated teams in the league. Flores’ defense is the key to this game, and they’ll keep Daniel Jones on his heels all day. Kevin O’Connell and company just win games. It’s what they do.
The Degen Special: Cleveland Browns
You know it’s a Degen special if we are picking the Cleveland Browns. I actually considered making them the top play this week, but they felt more appropriate in this section. This is one of the few weeks you’ll feel at least okay playing this team. I was a big hater preseason, but they’ve played well. Deshaun Watson doesn’t look half bad, and they’ve got playmakers stepping up for them.
Tennessee is the worst team in the league when it comes to the eye test. They won against Indianapolis last week, but that was more a product of the Colts blowing it than it was of the Titans winning it. Fade Tennessee off a win against a gritty team? I like it.
